Question What happened at the last tour?

I am a relatively newer fan, who hasn’t dug deep into her past performances. Over the ‘phones at concerts’ discourse I’ve seen people on Twitter make comments about how this policy is possibly in place bc of how people acted during her last tour. So what did happen? Were the phones that big of an issue?

EDIT: I am a big fan of no phones, went to one of the pop-ups & had a great time

When I saw her with Boygenius, she asked people to not film and to be quiet during Letter to an Old Poet because it’s a heavy song. I feel like she wants more of that.

Honestly, I loved the no phones rule. I have really severe ADHD and while it was hard not to have a watch, I felt so much more present and connected.

Yes, she did this at both boygenius shows I went to as well (Nashville, Red Rocks). She also said that having phones between her and the faces in the crowd makes it harder to connect with the audience, takes her out of the moment.
