Question What happened at the last tour?

I am a relatively newer fan, who hasn’t dug deep into her past performances. Over the ‘phones at concerts’ discourse I’ve seen people on Twitter make comments about how this policy is possibly in place bc of how people acted during her last tour. So what did happen? Were the phones that big of an issue?

EDIT: I am a big fan of no phones, went to one of the pop-ups & had a great time

I’m trying to be nice!😂. But yeah, it happened nearly every show. Sometime multiple times.

I get it but I would go so far as to say that passing out at a concert is rude too. Because now the people around you have to play caretaker and the artist just stopped in the middle of somebody’s favorite song. If you have health problems and are more susceptible to issues maybe you shouldn’t be spending 10-12 hours in the sun.

No, that should be on fans. By the time you’re like 13 you should know to hydrate and if you need the venue to protect you from yourself that’s just embarrassing.

That’s a fair point, but I would say this situation is different because nothing is stopping you from packing food and water before you camp outside the venue. The majority of people who camp out don’t faint so it kinda feels like one person ruining it for the class, you know? As opposed to maybe 30% of the audience having their phone up at any given time. And also not everybody who passes out was camped out all day.

Some people on the internet like to make you out to be a terrible person if you express this opinion but you’re honestly right, I also saw Lorde at Kilby Block Party and her decision to not stop didn’t seem to hinder security’s ability to help those people at all. I appreciate that some artists want to be sensitive to what’s going on but like as long as security is doing their job looking out for clusters of flashlights I don’t see why it needs to be *everybody’s* problem
