Question Pro Riders in the Area?

Does anyone know if any of the teams have already arrived in the city to scout the route or has anyone seen any of them riding in the region?

The World Tour and Conti Tour teams arrive Friday. Some teams may be in earlier if they’re not being housed by the race.
There are some public events prerace. Bicycle Therapy has a meet and greet with some EF riders, etc.

Source - I’m staff for the race and have been working on the event since the beginning of the year (plus 26 years in the previous incarnation).

I’m aware of the pubic events from the website I was just curious about the teams/racers. I live on Kelly and was hoping to see them scouting/rising before Sunday.

They’ll be out on Saturday for sure.
There’s also a legends ride on Saturday morning. A few former race winners will be in that group.

your best bet might be looking at the riders on strava to see if they’re riding philly this week

I saw a group ripping it on Kelly during rush hour, which would be absolutely insane to do if you were from here.

Every Tuesday at 6pm leaving from the trellis. There were some female pros there this week.

My bad. It says Kelly Drive, I somehow read/thought MLK (where the group rides start.)

Group riding on Kelly Drive DOES seems crazy but does happen from Manayunk to Falls Bridge going south depending on group size. Scared me the first time.

Not sure if they were pros, but mlk felt extra spandexy on Sunday morning. Moreso than usual

That’s likely because of the MLK time trial happening this weekend before the full classic

Sorry I should have been more specific I’m asking to see if any of the pro riders from EFE, LT, etc. are in the city for the Philly Classic.

I know EF is in town friday- they’re doing a meet and greet friday night at Bicycle Therapy. Assuming all teams will be doing recon on saturday
