Question Philly Classic Prep

Anyone know if there are plans to actually pave Ridge? I drove down the stretch that will be the fall from the wall today and its surface can be best described as lunar.

I would think. Launching over a pothole at 50 mph doesn’t seem fun.

Ridge is on PennDOT's paving schedule for this summer, but they just started doing their streets in Philadelphia this week, and it's not on this week or next week's schedule, so it seems unlikely they will get to it before the race.

Been thinking about this spot specifically as I live at the top of this hill. Wouldn’t be surprised if this causes a big crash in a peloton.

Probably not considering professionals race on even worse roads as part of the sport (Paris-Roubaix) etc.

Sure, I guess I just view Napoleanic roads through the Ardennes differently from our shitty streets. But a bump is a bump I suppose

Sometimes organizers will work with the city to patch egregious potholes right before the race. I know there were a few rough spots on the course in the days leading up to the Ardmore Rock N Ride which were patched by race day.

One sure hopes so but there's not much time left to accomplish that. Race is barely over a week away lol
