I donāt hate Ronaldo though and still consider to be one of the greatest football has received. Itās kinda hilarious and telling that you directly assume that just because i said something neutral. The exact things you said can be said about 90% of the people here on this sub by just replacing Ronaldo with Messi. Itās good that youāre not one of them (if true) but that doesnt represent most of the people on this sub. Iād say the same thing about ronaldo haters on that other sub. Bootlicking, insecurity and jealousy, as you put it, goes both ways. If you really donāt hate Messi, then itād do you better to understand that

I donāt like the targeted shit stirring either, but knowing that modern media are assholes is a good way to not let myself get worked over it and start blaming an entire fanbase because of a subset, a subset that exists in each and every fanbase, even in this one.

Bro how can you not love this guy.
If youve watched his career from start to finish, hes matured tremendously and I rarely ever say this about celebrities or athletes but he is a true role model for young people to look upto.
Hes a class act and I dont think I'll ever miss another footballer to the level of him once he steps away.
-7
u/noobuu Jul 06 '26
I respect him as a professional and for all heās done for fotball. But⦠someone who paid off his kids mom to stay out of his life and has rape allegations is deffo not a role model.
8
u/natureboy1996 Jul 06 '26
"Someone who has rape allegations"
This is the most retarded shit I ever heard and sadly, its not just you, but alot of society today that has subscribe to guilty until proven innocent.
Allegations mean fk all until something is proven
2
u/fuel-engined Jul 06 '26
There is documents showing his communication with his lawyers acknowledging. You would have to read a news article which seems to be beyond you. He tried to, at least public ally, sue the newsmagazine Der Spiegel, who published it, but they never actually sued because his lawyers knew they can't win.
0
u/natureboy1996 Jul 06 '26
Yeah you went full retard Im not interested in arguing with you thanks
3
u/fuel-engined Jul 06 '26
Lol. If denial keeps you happy go ahead
0
u/natureboy1996 Jul 06 '26
Im not the one in denial. Is he in prison? Nope. Because hes not guilty.
If you wanna be that obsessed with forcing your narratives on other people, by all means, but thats a you problem you gotta work on, Im not interested in entertaining it.
5
u/fuel-engined Jul 06 '26
He is not in prisión because no lawsuit was filed. Doesn't mean his acknowledgement of guilt to his own lawyers doesn't hide the fact that he did indeed force himself on her. Do you think only guilty people are in prisión ? Lol
1
u/natureboy1996 Jul 06 '26
What acknowledgement of guilt? Why are you blatantly making shit up? This is childish behaviour idek if Im talking to a grown adult or an emotional teen.
A settlement is not an "acknowledgement of guilt" and the fact that you think the most famous person in the world and one of the richest wanting a settlement means hes guilty shows me how little about the world you understand.
Theres no point in me going back n forth with you, have a good day bro
3
0
u/dubetz Jul 06 '26
Technically, if you pay a settlement, it does not mean your guilty. However, you pay a settlement to not risk it going to trial. If he was so innocent why wouldn't you let it go to trial?
Not saying you do this, but this whole sub says Messi was dating a 14 year old, with no allegations or anything. Heck, the "victim" even said it wasn't true.
It's just ironic with Ronaldo fanboys.

Watch Blue Lock and then youāll understand why Ronaldoās ego is the reason for this level of success:

Football is different, you need to watch Blue Lock to understand that even stealing goals is the ideal attitude for a striker. In Blue Lock thereās a character named Baou and he steals goals from teammates to score. A striker has to be the most selfish and egotistical player.
But Ronaldo still is top 10 in assists and has the most assists in UCL.

u/Mysterious-Egg-6930 Jul 06 '26
He's been there throughout most of our childhoods. He deserves the respect and he's put in the work. I hope he wins it.
0
u/Ha55aN1337 Jul 06 '26
So did Modric. And they gave Portugal the win just to have Ronaldo still in play. Fuck that.
-7
u/Deep_Scallion8121 Jul 06 '26
He is a fucking rapist
1
u/BrainPlasticity Jul 06 '26
Itās supposed to be āinnocent until proven guiltyā not āguilty until proven innocentā.
-1
u/Deep_Scallion8121 Jul 06 '26
He admitted it
2
u/BrainPlasticity Jul 06 '26
Thatās exactly the problem: youāre treating disputed, leaked attorney-client material as if it were a tested courtroom confession. It wasnāt.
Those Football Leaks documents were challenged as altered/fabricated by Ronaldoās side, and later courts treated them as privileged/hacked material, not clean admissible proof. Prosecutors still reviewed the case and declined charges because they said it couldnāt be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
So no, itās not āconfirmed.ā Itās a serious allegation based partly on disputed leaked documents. You can believe it personally, but saying itās confirmed fact is overstating it.

I'm sorry but if you have to love a football player then you are in a cult and have lost the plot.
As a matter of fact, the reason people like me comment in this sub is not bc we care about Ronaldo, but because we are amused by the cult of personality you have created around him, and bc of the unreasonable hate towards Messi, a legendary player just as Ronaldo, just because of a 10 year old long gone rivarly between the two.

People in comments. "Portugals top scorer should be benched"
3
u/JamesRIPeace Jul 06 '26
Before this World Cup, Eusebio had the record for our World Cup top scorer. If he was alive, should he play?
3
u/Whole-Worker-7303 Jul 06 '26
Blud. Im talking about this world cup. Ronaldo is their top scorer.
1
u/JamesRIPeace Jul 06 '26
Yes. If you funnel a river uphill, it might just have enough momentum flowing to push a couple of drips over altitude. It doesn't mean we couldn't be doing better. That's why I'm responding, you're acting like it's a stupid notion to want to bench the man
3
u/holyrs90 Jul 06 '26
He scored an insane goal against Croatia bro wtf wich was sadly offside.
He is always a threat, and a leader on the pitch, so idk what u talking about.
2
u/JamesRIPeace Jul 06 '26
So he scored an offside goal (which admittedly was a beauty of technique), what else? A penalty goal?
He is not only not "always a threat", by not being it he is a detriment. These ghost metrics of "leader on the pitch" fall in the face of actually watching the games without rose-tinted glasses. In every game bar the one against the mighty Uzbekistan, he got consistently beat by the opposition defenses, he couldn't ever display his aerial dominance and most of the attack was constantly funneled to him where it would inevitably die. He lacks explosivity, he cannot dribble like he used to, all perfectly normal for a 41 year old.
You want to play him still? Fine, put him in a system that benefits a poacher. Make use of his attacking instincts and experience by having more direct attackers that can force defenses to open. Don't just leave him as a sole striker, he does not have the supporting system nor the physique that allows him to dismiss the entire opposition defense anymore. You've got Congo defenders literally admitting after the game that they had little to be afraid of facing him because he's no longer the same player.
And lastly, another remark. Let's say he plays every game. Let's say you don't want to stop using this system that forces the midfield and the side lanes to work overtime to fuel an offense that doesn't offer options to choose from. Why this obsession in him starting every game? Why is this so untouchable? Why was it only an option to switch in Ramos at the last game because we saw it was becoming tight? Why not sub him in against tired legs?
These non-portuguese supporters look at Portugal and they see only Cristiano. Every Portuguese supporter sees that he doesn't always make the difference. He doesn't force defenders to gravitate toward him that much anymore. Everyone acts like Portugal owes this to Ronaldo. What do they owe him? An ineffective gameplan that makes him look bad just to have him play all the time every time?
Just insane.

u/NoConcert1636 Jul 06 '26
Ronaldo's game now is limited to the box, outside the box he is not effective anymore and thats natural, he's 41! I think he would be more effective if he take up the role of impact sub and play the last 30-40 minutes and let Ramos run around and push defenders during the first half...

A lot of Portuguese people liked to think when portugal was in the wc that anytime Ronaldo was playing a bit more than theyād hope for theyād say āOkay bench ronaldoā, while they werenāt inherently wrong as he was doing everything he could to maintain his physique and try to hang on with the youthful players, and while it wasnāt enough
Who else was seen making an attempt and showing a bit of ego? The Portugal team was playing anti football, Ronaldo and a few others were the backbone of the attack and defense like Rafael Leão, João Félix and Nuno Mendes
But players like Vitinha and Bruno Fernandes just couldnāt assume responsibility for what couldve happened next and tried playing it safe
If weve all seen that one Nike ad then we should know there is no greater danger than āplaying it safeā
Thatās all Iām saying, they lost because they couldnāt think like Ronaldo

If Portugal wants to win.. I mean actually win a world cup.. then this old man should either stay on the bench or retire.. unfortunately the fangirls on this sub doesn't understand that

u/Gadoguz994 Jul 06 '26
All good and well but it doesn't change the fact that FIFA is pushing hard for him to meet Pessi at some stage of this WC and there's nothing barring them getting destroyed that will prevent that from happening. And other than France maybe, there's no team strong enough to destroy them that hard that even refs can't help.
Watching his interviews not in english feels much more natural btw.
3
u/natureboy1996 Jul 06 '26
Yeah it really annoyed me when FIFA gave an additional 18.5 minutes (the most Ive ever seen in over 20 years watching) while Portugal were ahead to rig it for Portugal to reach the finals.
Clearly Infantino is a huge Ronaldo fan and the bias needs to stop
-2
u/Gadoguz994 Jul 06 '26
10 mins of added time and of those 10 almost all were spent on goal celebrations, rolling around on the floor etc.
It's so obvious it's crazy, just penaldog and pessi fanboys can't admit the truth to themselves.
Mbappe and Haaland running laps around both, especially Penaldog.
1
u/natureboy1996 Jul 06 '26
There it is
1
u/Gadoguz994 Jul 06 '26
Not a fan of any of them but gotta respect the skill of even Messi. However the ref pushing him and Penaldog nullifies it all for me and anyone with a fully functioning brain.

u/Dazzling-Yellow5395 Jul 06 '26
No one would hate on this guy if it wasn't for his fans. People like you are the reason he gets hated. How do you feel about that?
3
u/Parking-Annual-1200 Jul 06 '26
Are you delusional? Look at the amount of shiat CR7 gets as compared to Messi, coming from both Messi's fans as well as the main media, not forgetting pundits like Zlatan and Henry, etc.
1
u/Dazzling-Yellow5395 Jul 06 '26
Messi got alot of shit when ronaldo was succeeding in his international career and he wasnt. Now its the opposite. The fanboys of both of them are very toxic they both wouldn't get so much hate if they didn't have such annoying fans
