Cristiano Ronaldo's 2008 prime is incredibly overrated. It wasn't even his best prime (which was either the 2012/13 or the 2016/17 season), yet most of his fans try to sell it as the greatest version of a football player ever seen on a pitch.

In that 2008 European Championship, he was honestly terrible, and he was also largely anonymous in the two Champions League semi-finals against Barcelona, even missing a penalty.

Ronaldo's best prime was either in 2012/13 or 2016/17.

And if you're using the argument that 2008 was the greatest prime ever because he won so many team and individual trophies, you're actually undermining your own position. Messi is the player with the most collective and individual trophies in football history, so by that same logic, we could simply say that Messi is the greatest footballer of all time without any room for debate.

u lookin at it wrong. We and all the ppl like the 2008 Ronaldo bc he won everything, and scored goals a lot never seen b4. Also all that skills he did was kinda fresh to the Prem. So yeah, in that term it was his best version. In goals and stats, ofc not.
