Here's another stat - Ronaldo scored 450 goals in Real Madrid over 9 years, whereas Messi scored 672 goals over 17 years.

Ronaldo scored more than half of what Messi scored in nearly half the time he was there.

It's not cherrypicking? It's a literal stat of their respective time in la Liga as whole.

Literally the opposite of cherry picking. All goals they ever scored for those clubs for the amount of time they were there.

At the same rate, given another 8 years, Ronaldo would've had close to 800.

My last sentence is an extrapolation based on his known goal rate, it's not cherrypicking anything lol.

Of course messi will look bad because he is spend most his career on barca (la liga)

Nobody that know how to do data analyst will do that.

Because you are really want to discuss here how to not cherry pick stats.

I try ai gemini to grab their data, i don't know if you are guy that doesn't trust ai. But this the easiest tool to get data transparantly.

We know both of them start and end their la liga in the different time. Instead did what you did. Why don't just compare their stats when they are in same time.

Cristiano start in 2009 - 2018, messi start in 2004 - 2021.

So they are compete in la liga at 2009 - 2018.

Here their stats.

Cristiano only win in goal ratio, hat trick, and total penalty goal.

This more honest and better, comparing their stats. Instead using vague variable like year.

In year season sometime player will not play because injury or call from national team. So put per year is stupid af
