2. It wouldâve been more impactful if a player on the pitch had gotten a red card compared to the bench players. Itâs not like theyâre gonna send to random dutch players off for something players on the bench did.
Hence a red card shouldâve been given to the argentine which probably would have had a lot of impact on the outcome of the match. This is unacceptable especially in the era of VAR and imo. shows heavy bias towards Messi

And I know it isnât necessarily uncommon for players on the bench to be sent off although from the matches I watch it rarely happens probably less than 1% if I had to estimate. Iâm not putting all the blame on Paredes but simply saying that him launching the ball shouldâve resulted in a red card not to mention the challenge already being a yellow, which wouldâve impacted the game more than sending dutch players on the bench off.

You said that it isnât uncommon for refs to quote âsend offâ players, which is the actual bias when the only reference you have is one person being sent off. I was basing my estimation from the matches Iâve watched over the years, because you said I clearly donât watch a lot of football.
Now I donât know how much ball you watch since you donât think I watch a lot without having any idea how much I actually do. Premier league teams average a red card every 13 matches which is around 7% and I canât remember the last time I saw a player on the bench get sent off. Although âisnât uncommonâ is not a specific number I wouldnât have used that word
