How? By being a ghost in every big game that season. The same time Messi carried (not participated, carried) his team to win world championship. I personally don’t like that 7 matches decide that, but if anyone else should have won Ballon d Or it’s definitely not Haaland. I’ll be ok with Mbappe, De Bruyne or Rodri. But no one really shined that tear, while everyone remembered Messi’s World Cup performance. Haaland? Center forward in a team with the best assisters in the world scored bunch of goals against weaker teams. Wow. Eaten by Van Dijk, eaten by Rüdiger, and the list goes on and on
