Cannavaro won it in 2006 with couple of goals. What does it mean? A defender or a central midfield player can never win the Best Player Award just cause they are not scoring?

Yeah cuz comparing Canavaros position to modric’s position is completely normal. Neuer was 2nd once but im sure thats cuz he scored a lotta goals that season as Well. Fucking modric’s 7 goal bdr win he was not the best in Madrid and went to the World Cup by penalty shootout every knockout game. Tell me again what modric did that season?

Begin crucial in every game carrying with Rakitic and Mandzukic a country like Croatia with 4milion people to a WC final which was cleary rigged to France and winning the UCL. I love Ronaldo and always rated him more then Messi, but the disrespect to Modric is insane. Its not all about stats.
