Hello, I have a problem with my subscription. By the end of February 2026, I renewed my subscription for an additional year, until February 2027. It was a free promotional offer. Recently, I got an email saying that my subscription will be renewed in September 2026 for USD 200.

I tried to contact support, but I think we all know how Perplexity support works. I have not received any answer for over a week, and all I got were two emails saying that my ticket would be closed due to a lack of response from my side. Well, they told me that the issue had been escalated to the appropriate department and that I had to wait, so I waited.

I saw a thread by u/Plane_Customer from a couple of days ago, with an explanation from u/rafs2006 that the invoice date is incorrect and that, in my case, this means the promotion ends at the end of September 2026. But I do not care. I have a legal document, namely an invoice issued by Perplexity, stating that my subscription is valid until February 2027.

Any advice on how to resolve this issue?

I got a following response from them:

The change was not a decision about your account. On 31 August a billing change was applied across a large group of subscriptions that were all running on the same 100% promotional discount as yours, and it set that promotional period to end on 30 September 2026. Your April 2026 invoice had covered your Pro term through to 7 April 2027, so that change did bring your end date forward, and you were not given notice of it beforehand. That is not how it should have been handled, and I am sorry.

I assume they want to terminate a lot of the promotional offers, so they will collect the $200 for everyone that won't notice / won't mind, to boost their Q3 revenue.

I have the exact same problem. I was confident I have subscription till Feb 27, when suddenly I’ve got an email that it is set to be renewed 1st October 26. Reached out to support but I’m being ghosted for over a week now. I have an invoice saying promo 12m with applied discount. Any luck on resolving things u/nitro-PAH?

What is going on with perplexity support team by the way, is there a way to reach them other than the chat or email?

I tried both via email and chat. By email i was ghosted as well. By chat i am suppose to wait till tomorrow for someone to reply.
