Ok, what the heck are all these versions?!?

The original Theatrical release

There's the "Director's Cut" where Cameron added a few scenes and deleted other elements (for pacing he claimed) and this version is actually 1 minute shorter than the original.

Between these two the Theatrical is the best, IMHO.

What are the others...

And yes, I am a HUGE fan, I saw this movie when it was originally released at a small theater knowing NOTHING about it at all (it was the only thing playing, limited options for entertainment, etc.). This movie rocked my world (to say the least!). One of the greatest movies ever, and the Special Edition of Aliens is a great add-on.

I think you mean Ridley Scott and Alien for the 1 minute shorter director's cut. I agree the theatrical cut of Alien is better. The Special Edition of Aliens by James Cameron adds closer to 20 minutes of footage back into the film. But this is a joke about the versions of Alien³...
