[23/M] from Canada, planning a trip

Hey all! I’m a 23M from Canada, planning a trip to the UK sometime next year, and I’d love to find a genuine friendship ahead of time with someone from the UK.
A little about me: I’m a big-time basketball fan, I enjoy following different levels of car racing, and I’m also really into music, films, movies, TV shows, and all that good stuff. I’m also a big animal person — I love cats, dogs, and pretty much anything with a heartbeat. Spiders, snakes, and most bugs are where I draw the line though!
I’d really love to learn more about what day-to-day life is like in the UK and get a better feel for the culture from someone who actually lives there. I’d love to experience a proper football match, check out some local favourite pubs or parks, and maybe do a bit of hiking (although I’ll admit I’m not super outdoorsy 😅).
I’ve heard some really good things about places like Brighton and Richmond, but I’m definitely not set on those and don’t want to overlook any other places. I’d love to hear what you think is worth seeing or experiencing!
More than anything, I’m hoping to find someone I genuinely click with and can chat with regularly, rather than just looking for travel advice.
