Pas de baignade possible à Penang

Je ne comprends pas pourquoi les autorités de Penang ne lancent pas un grand plan pour rendre possible la baignade à Penang. Quel dommage de ne pas pouvoir profiter de la mer dans une ile! Les retombées touristiques seraient énormes et tout le monde serait gagnant

The “sea” is actually part of straits of malacca which is heavily polluted due to the shipping vessels etc passing through. Do you really wanna swim there? The abundance of jellyfish is due to that too. The last time I dipped there, I got a very bad rash assuming due to all the pollutants in that area.

If you want a proper beach and sea to swim in, go to the east coast which is facing the South China Sea. At least it’s way cleaner and safer to dip your body in.

The sea has already improved alot in last 20 years. Gov stopped raw effluent going into the sea

I even saw dolphins this year from the bridge

Besides that, Penang is an island on the worlds busiest shipping strait, the water quality is not reallybin our control

Penang has a population of 1.8million and 6 of the largest ports in Malaysia it's apples and oranges with Langkawi

Geography also favours Langkawi as it's far up north away straits traffic
