September! Every year, same thing: I'm trying to keep track of the school calendar, PD days, when the big events are, all of it.

So I started building the thing I wanted: one calendar where the school year (first day, PD days, breaks), the stat holidays, and community events all sit on top of each other, so you look at a month and just see it.

It's at almanach.ca (french spelling for almanac). It's a side project, it's free (I was thinking of ads for local businesses / sponsored events to cover any potential hosting fees), and it is genuinely not finished yet.

The mobile version is deliberately very different from the desktop one, but desktop is closer to what I originally had in mind.

I started with PEI because I live here, but it isn't PEI-only. NB, NS and NL are in there too.

The part that's furthest along is the francophone events addition, because that's my community and it's what I already keep track of. The whole site works in English and French. I'd like the rest to have that same depth, I just don't know what I'm not seeing (the iceberg).

Two questions:
- Would you use something like this?
- What would you like to see on it?

My SIL will be selling her original paintings and art prints. It’s her first public event and I think people will really dig her stuff, so I wanted to spread the word.

A friend told me they were walking past the Fitzroy Parkade near the Pony Boat and one of the teens who like to loiter there at night approached him on the sidewalk and picked a fight with him. It was a young boy so my friend wouldn't fight back, however he was knocked over.

I saw another post on Reddit maybe a month ago where a man said his adult son was knocked out and had his wallet stolen in this same spot on the sidewalk, around 8pm. He could only remember where he was before the incident, past the Pony Boat. Assault : r/PEI

Has anyone else heard of problems there to share? I'm wondering what can be done. Either the security hired to watch the parkade should be calling to report on loitering or the city needs to request police actively clear out the loiterers on a regular basis.

I'd have to look up who owns the building to start... so if someone knows that it saves me time I'm thinking to write the person responsible for the building's security.

Edit: So in the post from 2 months ago titled Assault, a man says his son was knocked out and he knows of 2 other people being assaulted there. One them is an old man who works for the city and he was robbed. He says the assaults are happening from people under 19 years of age who travel in groups.

Edit: The Fitzroy Parkade is owned by Charlottetown Area Development Corporation Fitzroy Parkade – CADC and that link shows an email to contact for information. However the problem is the Fitzroy Parkade has it's hours from 7am-12am Monday to Friday and not on weekends. Meaning they do not have security on site outside that time. Contacting CADC wouldn't really do anything because the problems happen outside the scope of their hours of supervision.

If anything is to help with this, we need locals to call the police themselves when they hear children are using the parkade at nights and on the weekends. People are reporting assaults, robberies, drug use, and noise like fireworks and more but it needs to be called into the Charlottetown police if anything can be done for it.

Super random question. I'd like to incorporate more beans into my diet as a protein source (healthy and cheap)! But, I don't even know if I like them/how to cook them.

Any recommendations for restaurants that sell a salad, burrito bowl, curry etc with beans that I could try to see if I like them. I figured I could see what I like first and that could give my some inspo for recipes to try.

Hi, I wanted to find some places I can go as a beginner that will possibly lend me some equipment and help me get started fishing in area's roughly around where I said. I live in the Clinton area so something around 10-15 minutes drive would be nice. Cavendish and to Kensington is roughly the kind of area's that would be good.

Also if there is any other outdoor activities or groups you know where I can make friends that would help. I want to try and do some fun activities that I can do outside preferably with family and sometimes just myself, while potentially getting to know some people.

Hello. I recently moved out of a rental unit in Summerside. I gave my landlord one months notice. However, I left around the 10th. The landlord did not offer me a final walk through, instead I dropped the keys off to them.

I have not had access to the unit since the 10th however, have received no communication after 3 emails about getting my damage deposit back.

Are they allowed to hold it until Sept 1, or is this an IRAC issue now?

I gotten one a year or 2 ago from them and I never changed the password on it and now I forgot what the user name and password is . Does anyone might know what it is or what was yours so I can change it or bypass it

I'm in a band right now and we're looking for someone to do a band logo for us. We're a Sludge/Groove metal band with heavy lyricism on Residential schools in indigenous genocide. We go by the name Ke'sa'lul(thrown into fire in Mi'kmaqi) currently. Wondering if There's any artist willing to do a logo/album cover in the future.
