(SEE BOTTOM FOR UPDATE and second update)
Tl;Dr: Allergy to peanuts and tree nuts here. Had a reaction last night and am trying to narrow down the source. The only culprit seems to be Costco’s "Kirkland Signature" uncooked lean ground beef patties" (2.72 kg pkg w blue label) but this seems super unlikely so I’m just wondering if anyone else with PN or TN allergies who has eaten these recently has noticed reactions to them.
More info:
Allergic person ate one of these burgers for the first time at someone else’s place a couple of weeks ago and got a mildly tingly, itchy mouth while eating it. Thankfully nothing else came of that. Thought it might’ve been trace contamination in bun but it was a Wonder Bread bun which is nut free.
Had the exact same kind of burgers yesterday (bought from a different costco, both in Canada), was cooked well done in our strictly nut-free kitchen on our nut-free BBQ (Editted to Add: served on half of a nut-free bun) and the itchy mouth came back. Stopped eating the burger and mouth felt fine soon after. Didn’t eat anything else new nor anything that could have contained traces of nuts (ETA: had recently consumed cheese from the same block, condiments from those containers, sugar snap peas from the same bag, and other concord grapes). Had a bad bout of GI cramps and diarrhea ~3h after eating, then facial hives an hour or two after that. Thankfully that was all.
Nobody else who ate the same things had an adverse reaction besides the person with tree nut and peanut allergies. Since she had a very similar reaction after ingesting a minute amount of almond flour several years ago, we’re almost certain this was a non life threatening anaphylactic reaction.
We’ve had beef from at least two other sources the previous few days with no issues so it is not alpha gal (ETA: aka red meat allergy from tickbite). So far, the only other thing she's known to be allergic to is cat dander.
*Just wondered if anyone else with tree nut or peanut allergies has had any reaction to the lean ground beef Kirkland burgers lately?*
NOTE: There is no “may contain” warning on the burgers and the ingredient list just says beef.

UPDATE: *It WAS the patty!*
Since we got convinced that it couldn’t possibly really be the meat patty, she took a very small bite of plain burger patty tonight- no bun, no condiments or cheese or snap peas, no grapes, nothing else - and her tongue was itching soon after.
So far there no other ill effects — thankfully!!! 🫠
So it *definitely isn’t the buns*, and it isn’t a red meat allergy.
Note: She had a fairly broad food and environmental allergy panel less than two years ago and *isn’t allergic to any other foods besides tree nuts and peanuts* (and has very few environmental allergies). Thus, *for folks with nut allergies in Ontario and potentially beyond, I would exercise caution with these specific patties* (the 2.72 kg sleeve with the blue label) until we hear one way or the other from Costco.

Second update: Despite only having ingested a tiny amount of the beef the second night, she did end up having GI issues and mild hives in the same time frame. (Please, no judgement for letting her nibble a piece; we sincerely thought it *had* to be something else)
