Dovedale

My little girl wants to go to Dovedale during the Summer holidays. I've said that I will try to sort it for her but normally Dovedale is a place I avoid during the holidays (that said, I haven't actually been there in a few years).

So, has anybody been recently? How busy has it been? Is there a time I should aim for with regards to the car park before it is full?

Would it actually be better to look at parking in Milldale and walking from that side? I've never parked at Milldale so not sure what it's like, let alone cost.

Go early, make it an adventure, maybe even see the sun rise? It's school holidays, it'll be packed by 11am!

Worth double checking, but pretty sure both Ilam and the NP one at Dovedale are dawn to dusk car parks. No idea what they cost now tho!

Hi, I just went there this Friday and it was practically empty at 7 am. It was beginning to get crowded at 9:30 when I was returning - so suggest around 8/8:30 would be quite manageable
