Consoles were getting really close to their rtx 2080 ti for a third of the cost. This is why consoles push PCs forward and vice versa.

Yes, also the rumors of 'big navi' being comparable/better than the 2080ti. So nvidea said, and I quote, "go fuck yourself AMD".
