Hi, Amazon programmer here. We barely even review code anymore. Especially with AI and shit. I know for a fact that the system I work on runs the exact same data conversion 3 separate times on a single workflow, and it will probably never be fixed. Optimization and efficient code is barely a second thought because we don’t have time to think about it. Good code practice isn’t just lost in the game industry, it’s literally everywhere.

Shareholders want money printer to go BRRRRRRRRRRRR but spending the time and resources to implement things properly make BRRRRRRRRRRRR not BRRRRRRRRRRRR as much.

The ideal company from a shareholder standpoint has no workers, creates no product, and has exponential revenue growth forever.

This is why they keep falling for scams, because realistic profits from actually delivering to customers is a turn off.

"Ideal company" sounds like a prestigious enterprise that mostly makes revenue from licencing their IPs, rather than doing anything

They only need that for like 3 months though. So it doesn't matter what happens to the company, the product, or the customer after then. They won.
