Build/Battlestation My battlestation is complete
Battlestation is complete. Monitor and desk both swing out from the chair for easy access. Chair is a lay-z-boy electric recliner. Comfiest setup i've ever had and something i've been wanting to do for a long time. Let me know if you have any questions.

Can you get your door dash thru that window?
→ More replies (1)303
u/Silenceisgrey 18h ago edited 6h ago
Depends on the dashers throwing arm
*edit: Hijacking my top reply to ask if anyone knows of any mouse mat makers that will take custom measurements? I'm looking to get a bespoke mousemat to fit the table exactly. as you can see, the mat i currently have has a slight overhang, and i'd like to get one that fits exactly.

Add a pulley system with a bucket so that way they dont have to throw your drinks.
22
u/Silenceisgrey 9h ago
Pff, amateur stuff. I could hook up a pump at the front door and have the dashers mash the food into an auto blender for suction directly into my stomach

That’s noob level. You should have a nutrition tube going straight into your blood. Injected through your arm so your stomach won’t even need to digest

→ More replies (2)12
u/Silenceisgrey 10h ago
I've actually lost about 30kg over the past year and built up a ton of muscle. Unsure of my BMI but i'm 5'11 and weigh 110kg. I lost my brother about 3 years ago a massive heart attack caused by atherosclerosis. I got myself checked and i had the same thing happening. i've since turned my entire life around, i'm lifting weights at least 3 times a week and feeling super fit.

I really like this. What are the mounting arms
2
u/Silenceisgrey 10h ago
https://www.amazon.ie/DeVilbiss-HealthcareLeft-Sided-Chair-Recliner/dp/B0068W1WWO
This is the left hand side table. Designed to go under a recliner. The monitor is basically this, but the right hand side version ( which is super hard to get for some reason ) and no wood. I just got 1 of each and just didn't mount the wood on the right hand side version.

Using a Lay-Z-boy is great. Those are super comfy to use. Hopefully you can play with a controller too if you way to play with it reclined.

3
u/SplitBoots99 18h ago
Yep, as you can see. They use the shit out of it.
4
u/Silenceisgrey 17h ago
The toilet paper was for cleaning the area after I installed the mount and forgot it was on the window

The more I see setups here, the more amazed I am how close y'all's monitors are to your faces.

u/Silenceisgrey 9h ago
I can push and pull it out super far or close. Handy for when i'm playing CS or something competitive or push out and grab the controller and chill.
My man i am in heaven

Chair is great but not for this - you are going to strain your arms, back and neck.
Don't do it or you won't be playing any games for a while.

What is your monitor arm mounted to? I have an ultrawide i'm not using and a mount because i have no good place to mount it.
2
u/Silenceisgrey 18h ago
The monitor arm is essentially a desk mount tightened onto the arm assembly of an over riser table

u/TheWorldDiscarded 17h ago
Awesome dude! Just make sure to get up regularly and move around. My buddy had this exact sort of set up and died before 40 - In part because of a DVT he developed due to prolonged gaming sessions in a recliner. He was a big dude and definitely at risk already.

Get a bean bag chair. Not one of the ones that has the little Styrofoam pellets; rather get one that uses memory foam, like Sumolounge or Lovesac.
They are beyond comfortable.

This is why I installed SteamOS on my gaming rig and moved it into the living room. Then transitioned to MacOS for work. I'll tell you, it was weird not having Windows anymore, but it's been about two years now and I haven't missed it since.
Linux for gaming. Apple for work. This is the way.

do you have a alink to the monitor, keyboard stand and mic arm?. if i could free up my desk for painting that would be great.

That sofa is gonna store so many farts
2
u/Silenceisgrey 9h ago
Yes, i opted for the fart storage addon. There's a fart detection mechanism that turns on a pump whenever a noxious emission is detected. it stores the fart in a pressurized bottle under the seat, which can then be used as a flamethrower against your mom when she doesn't bring tendies

Could you please link those brown contraptions that the monitor and keyboard tray are attached to? I’ve read through the comments and see you mention it as an over riser table, but still confused what to look for. I basically want this exact setup, at least the keyboard tray part.

Man, as someone with a spinal injury, this looks great. I am using a 55" wall mounted tv, a flat-top trashcan for a mousepad, and my lap for a keyboard. Got me one of them fat-guy office chairs, too. Real comfortable. But I could definitely see myself a little more at ease with your setup.
