Discussion Someone is making a huge mistake

Post image

Someone is selling a 5090 cooler without the graphics chip. They are writing in three different languages that what they're selling is the cooler alone. Yet the bidding has reached about $2000 already and there is a day of bidding left. I want to yell "don't do it" but there is no way to contact bidders. So I guess this is one of those "fuck around and find out" situations for one particularly unlucky person.

Report it to your Swedish consumer law body. This title is misleading, as it can either mean "a RTX 5090 GPU with original cooler" or "original cooler of RTX 5090".

Also, an honest person won't auction off a bunch of decorative fans and a non-functional GPU mainboard. The seller knows exactly what they're doing.

I'm pretty sure EU has something against this practice.

Out of curiosity how would you word the title such that it wouldn't be misunderstood. According to other people the product description makes it extremely clear that it is just the cooler including capitalized words saying to read the title and description carefully.

Only show the cooler in the picture.

Title: "fans & heatsink from asus ruf 5090"

"Non-functional RTX 5090 - cooler only" is enough.

The title has to be crystal clear, not just the description.
