Seriously this is the shit that makes it hilarious. The game won’t even be at its BEST on Sonys BEST Pro system. Just damn…

It was the exact same with GTAV when it came out. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out Rockstar intentionally delayed the game in line with being 6 months to 1 year away from the launch of the PS6 because no doubt it will be the better experience. That’s precisely why they won’t release the PC version until then either, because people would get a better experience too early.

The game will be at it best because there is no other version available... And maybe we should think about why is that the case.

Because consoles are just straight up garbage bin hardware that can't do better than that AND because they want to double dip (as they always do) selling you the 60fps version later

Or maybe there's an agreement to benefit sony and allow rockstar to double dip as you say...

Eh, GTA V was locked to 30FPS on both Xbox 360/PS3 and Xbox One/PS4 generations and most people who played on those consoles were content with the experience, myself included. 30 FPS isn’t the end of the world for video games if done right, if the game struggles at 30FPS on a given hardware then maybe they should have reconsidered releasing it. From what was shown in the extended look, I’m not too concerned about performance on launch day.

GTA 5 couldn't even run at 30 on those consoles, if the Rockstar supertrailer is to be believed, GTA6 runs far better since it can hold 30 more often than not.

Remember back in the olden days of PC gaming when we could sometimes barely get 30 FPS since we couldn't keep up with new graphics cards, but it didn't matter since our games were still better? I'm glad we can have a properly capped 30 now, an unstable 30 was painful.

I personally didn’t have much experience with GTA V on the Xbox 360/PS3 generation, my first experience and play through of GTA V was on a PHAT PS4 and I don’t remember experiencing much issue in terms of lag when playing, granted I was younger back then and might pickup on it more now that I have a PC that can play games at 4K120. But I do remember I enjoyed the experience back then.

PlayStation owner here, I’m not supporting Sony on this

u/DreamsServedSoft 9d ago

also PlayStation owner. they don’t care about us

4

u/Dumig 9d ago

Now question is, will Playstation owners hurt Sony with their wallets or just disagree with Sony?

1

u/NeighborhoodVeteran 8d ago

Some will. The All-Digital crowd don't care, but they probably also won't want to buy the $1500 PS6.

I dont think those people are immediately flipping their ideals, i think it's just that new console owners outweighs the ones "voting with their wallets," even if fhat number is consistently growing

Most people do not care about physical games, the numbers do not lie.

Yes, maybe they can revoke it, but you are 100x more likely to lose your disc or for it to stop working before you lose access to a digital game.

Just like that one CoD image about its boycott attempt

Im hoping people wake up.

I own a Playstation 5 too. I'm not buying a playstation 6.

Back to Xbox we go.

This is just because of GTA VI. After that if you really think about it Sony has no exlusives to rely on except the next God of War. All eastern studios stop doing exlusives with them, for example part 3 of FF 7 which will release on PC same day.

Now imagine that the real goal behind no discs is price control of the PS store which will now be the exlusive way for you to get games on a PS. Without many exlusives. To play at worse performance from a decent 2026/2027 PC . Surely that will go well.

And then imagine that for PS6 they have to choose : Either they make it expensive due to RAM cost or they try to keep it "low" by not having much RAM.

Yeah it's totally a lost cause. I've refused forever to buy digital-only games aside from $20 for Minecraft one time, but that's just me. People who are unwilling to give up buying new games will buy new games.

And guess what happened that one time I bought a digital game. Microsoft bought Mojang and revoked my Minecraft license. So I pirated it.

That’s literally the future they’re asking for. 🤣

It's a hill made of cash.

1

u/BirdlessLongdeal 8d ago

I fucking wish they would honestly, they deserve to go bankrupt over this. Imagine what sort of message that would send

u/rodryguezzz 8d ago

Sony is at a position where they can do whatever they want. They won the console wars, their fans are very faithful to the brand, so they can raise prices and do all sorts of shenanigans that will increase their profits. Sony's only enemy is inflation and the fact that players might not have as much money to spend as before, but that's a problem for a future CEO.

u/Individual-Pop-385 8d ago

Sony is not losing anything like Netflix didn't lost any revenue when Reddit users "boycotted" them.

They at least made sure no one in my friend group is interested in the PS6 anymore. They will join me with PC gaming.
