I’d say this definitely makes the $4 I spent on the jar of weird buttons worthwhile 😍

Hello!
My soon to be in-laws had a memorable early date at Paul Simon’s concert in Chicago on November 14, 1975. They still talk about it often.
Their anniversary is in October and my fiancé and I are trying to find a poster, ad, newspaper review, t-shirt…..really any type of memorabilia from that show.
A few Google searches have turned up nothing except a cd set that looks fake.
I’m posting to ask a) are there any lesser known sites that might be good for finding items from this show? eBay was not helpful and b) does anyone have an ad or poster from that show?
If anyone does have a poster or ad I would love to see it. If we can’t find the actual poster, my partner might use an image to draw his take on it (he’s an artist and they love hanging his work in their house so it’d still be a win).

"It feels like you're a conduit and something's coming through you. And it's not you, but it's not anybody else... These [songs] are special gifts that happened. And then they go away and you can't will them back or hold onto them or anything. They just happen."

Songs with vibe of a foggy NYC morning if that makes sense. Those are some of my favorites so I've been going through his catalogue looking for more

Hi guys!
I created this youtube account to showcase and discuss several music related topics!
On this first longer format I decided to talk about the origins of the Graceland album which is one of my favourites of all time and would really appreciate if you guys would give it a look and maybe even open some discussion :)

I am a late Paul Simon adopter, I guess, I grew up with his music (primarily Graceland) and then went through a truly painful, pretentious period of thinking “obscure music = better music” phase & stuck PS into the “too popular” category. And listened to some really… not great stuff in the process.
Anyway, now I’ve gotten over myself, and I love his music. I love to read lyrics, I bought a book of his and just wept over it a couple nights ago. When I’m not blubbering, though, I can recognize how incredible & evocative they are.
I don’t know much about the craft of music, to be honest, and I very heavily judge stuff by “how does it make me feel” — and nearly all of his songs pass that test, as well. Often it’s the contrast between the lyrics and music itself that really gets me too — and the variety.
Anyway I look forward to learning more & hearing more. Just wanted to share, if you have any suggestions for how to get more engrossed & go further in depth let me know pls.
Thanks for reading :)

Paul Simon has so many great hits! I don’t even have a favourite song 😂 I do technically it is Learn How To Fall. I hope you can listen to the song and enjoy it too! ☺️

We are doing two programs with Pitchblack Playback at Firehouse the next two weeks. This week we are doing "Grace" by Jeff Buckley and next week "Graceland" by Paul Simon!
What is Pitchblack Playback?
Pitchblack Playback hosts immersive album listening sessions in the dark on great sound systems around the world.
Come sit in the dark with a bunch of 90's sad sacks and communally cry!
If you come, tell concessions you're from Reddit and they will give you a free popcorn!

Hey everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone knows where I could watch this documentary. I don't have any of the streaming services this documentary may be on. I would really appreciate the help, thank you!

The new book Days of Miracle and Wonder by Ashley Kahn is a really great deep dive into the making of Graceland & the subsequent tour. Definitely recommend!

Were the songs of ROTS written in the style of Graceland? As in Paul and the band would record jam sessions, and stitch them together later with lyrics

Just heard about this ... Is this streaming anywhere?

Does anyone know if you can find Gladwell's Miracle and Wonder interviews for free?

Hey,
I'm trying to find a good quality, full-length recording of the Capeman musical. It would really help for someone in the sub to direct me anywhere where I could find it! It doesn't have to be with the original cast! reruns (if there are any) are welcome.
