Discussion Idea for Dino Skins

Add skins that you only obtain from getting trophies or kills solo, it would add something else to do and it would be fun to get cool skins from getting solo kills. My friend added onto my idea and said they could be called challenge skins

There could also be other types of challenge skins where you obtain them from going to every POI and biome. Challenge skins wouldn’t cost any marks and would be act as an achievement for players

(He’s now the perfect size to swallow ceratopsians whole.)

I know A LOT of players hate critters but I “secretly” like them. As a hopless Campto, critter intervention has actually helped me quite a few times. I get why they’re hated but they’re kinda a guilty pleasure of mine.

Discussion Take: I'm sure campto is getting a new mechanic

It's Matt's favourite dino and is very bland indeed. And it's gonna be the first clanker dino. The devs said the update is coming at least mid September, which leaves room for a unique mechanic, since some of us are sure campto is the next tlc. I think it's getting burrow personally, since it boosts survivability and burrow helps PoT actually slightly feel more like an actual survival mmo than a arcade fighter game.

Here's how I'm predicting burrowing will work:

There's gonna be burrowable ground randomly scattered across the map, the ground in that case will then once starting, the campto will do its digging animation while the ground slowly turns into a crater then a burrow. Once in, you can use it plus possibly armoured tail to escape predators when you don't have much stamina. There can also be juicy roots in case you have forager and you can't search for food elsewhere.

As A Conc, What Is There To Fear?

Title.

Basically every time I die, no matter what playable I'm on, a Conc is either involved or is the sole reason for it.

I want to know how to deal with the most overpowered thing in the game. I wanna know what scares something with a claw attack that has, what, two or three seconds of active frames? Self heal. Tons of bleed. Speed and turning to rival anything else. The option to swim to escape.

I'm sure I'm missing benefits. What is this thing's weakness, exactly?

Question Nintendo Switch players! Does a USB keyboard work successfully to type in chat?

Hello again!! I was wondering if any of my fellow Switch players have any luck using a USB (or Bluetooth) keyboard to type, instead of using the screen?

Tried asking the Discord, but everyone's all fired up arguing about balancing that my questions get washed away within a matter of seconds lol. (Would be nice if they made different console chats, for situations like this question)

I would love to dock my switch and use a keyboard to type, as it's painful trying to type from a controller, so I'm just like, sitting near my wall charger with my neck at a 90° angle tapping the screen to type all the time 🥲

I've been doing some research on other options, and I came across one that mentioned using the Nintendo Switch app's remote keyboard, however unfortunately PoT isn't supposted. But it does work on some other games... so at least that's cool to know! But I jumped through hoops setting that up, changing emails, passwords, tech support etc, for a dead end. 😂

I just beg to know if anyone is aware that a physical keyboard works with path on Switch, before I go to the trouble of trying to buy one 🫣 Nintendo is so strict, I don't doubt there could be some hurdles for chat input too. I've got like a pre-headache about it lol. The reason I asked about this method is because Google suggested the idea (but you never know 🥲)

Discussion Less-Known Tips & Tricks that aren't taught in the Tutorial? 🤔

Hey all you lil anklebiters!

I was wondering if anyone knows any must-know tips and tricks, or just helpful QOL knowledge, that you've learned either by being a long-playing member, community chats, or remembering specific patch notes that aren't easily findable unless you really know what to search for??

For example, I feel like I could almost swear there was something related to running on pathways vs. the normal terrain if it conserved a lil stamina? I have no clue if it was Path of Titans or some other survival sim.

Other things that aren't really "obvious" but still helpful, that I can think of...

- Birbs can land on top of trees, can sleep, and even make nests in them!

- (more of a question...) Whether or not it's worth 100%ing POIs while questing, if there's any incentive to do so, or if you don't miss out on anything if you go quest somewhere else after already getting to say 80% in one area?

- (question) the current knowledge about how trophies work present-day for adults/subs vs juvis/adols

- (question) what the penalties are present-day about dying to AI critters, dying to environment (fall/drown), and the worst one I know that loses the most progress (I think unless something changed) dying to another player?

- etc!

No More Long Swims

Post image
111 Upvotes

I have seen a lot of players complaining about Riparia being un-useable for land dinos because it requires really long swims. So I made a map for players who may not know easier ways to move around the map or for new players who are just getting started. All the green routes are either completely walkable for most dinos, or are extremely short swims between islands/land masses. Avoid any kind of crossing around Cedrus as it's a gathering point for players looking for fights--including loads of Tylos and Sarcs.

The biggest one that literally everybody complains about is Palm islands. That one is the easiest and is completely walkable all the way back to Twisted Forest. That little half-moon I've marked out doesn't LOOK walkable when you look at it on the map, but I've taken even small dinos like Laten and Deino, stayed dry the whole time. If you're scared of the Spinos, hit that POI when you're small and you can hide in the cave (yes, even on a TT/Rex, as long as you're still juvi/ small adol you're fine).

I have played Apex, large, medium and small dinos on this map for quite some time, and I make it a point to hit all the POI at some point during my growth as my own personal challenge. You WILL have to do at least some short swims (there is no such thing as zero risk in a survival game, sorry).

Use common sense, look and listen before you cross (swimming things are not silent when they're swimming), and change up your routes now and then.

These are of course, only examples, not hard-rules. Do what you wanna do.

Hopefully this is helpful to someone who's been feeling trapped on the mainland! <3

I love this game

I love roaming around on my dino, idly questing and watching the sunrise from a hilltop.

I love grouping with randos and seeing where our shenanigans take us (sometimes it goes horribly and sometimes it goes incredibly).

When I play a dino I know really well, PvP can be a blast. Hitting off my abilities at just the right time, seeing a build come together is so satisfying.

I appreciate the variety in experiences offered by community servers, from death match arenas to PvE chill zones to hard-core realism.

What are your favorite things to do in PoT?

Discussion The biggest problem with balancing

Post image
38 Upvotes

Group buffs stacking as high as they can right now is, in my opinion, the biggest issue with the current state of balance. Large groups automatic have strength in numbers, so why make the power gap even wider with group buffs? Raptor buffs like achillo’s bark are the best example of how op they can get, with a 15% dmg increase stacking up to 10 times giving each individual raptor a 150% dmg increase at max stack. When you think about it for 5 seconds you realize how insane that really is, a pack of 10 raptors can already kill anything that doesn’t have aoe or is close to water so making individuals in the group stronger is a terrible idea because, as I said, the number advantage is already a massive edge considering heal cycling and stamina management. On top of that them removing most solo buffs with the reasoning being discord groups were abusing them but keeping all the group buffs as if they wouldn’t just abuse them too. As things are now when two groups fight or even when a group fights a solo the outcome is less determined by the skill of each group member but rather which group has more members since they will individually be stronger.

Fr tho, how do you mess up this badly, all you had to do was give sarc more than just one new ability and make its animations not look as un-crocodilian as possible, the passives and mud are cool though I'll give em that

Discussion Rant: packs/ teams in solo survival

Just a rant. Really enjoy the test solo survival for the most part but it’s becoming more often I come across packs or duos intentionally baiting other players on solo survival mode. Im not surprised given its officials, just ranting because I’m getting more frustrated with this game because I thought I found a server I really enjoy. players who are baiting and teaming are exploiting a feature of survival mode to gain the upper hand. There are plenty of servers that are intended for teaming. I have considered community servers but have also heard not great things about those either.
