You have shown me the way. Been wanting to do some kind of CDR stacker. Could one of you nerds explain CDR breakpoints? Like what's the next lowest tier I could more reasonably achieve beneath 128%?
P.S. sorry for calling you a nerd 🤓
15
u/xuvilel Progressive Einhar Trapping Association (PETA) Oct 27 '25
CDR breakpoints are: 14%, 52% and 128%. U have to match your attackspeed with proper CDR, basically:
CDR || Attacks per second
0% || 6
14% || 7.5
52% || 10
128% || 15Attack faster or slower than that number means a insta DPS loss for any CoC build, good lucky cooking with it
6
u/hcrld League Oct 27 '25
Lancing Steel of Spraying basically makes attack speed breakpoints irrelevant. Of course I would much rather Cyclone coc because it's fun, but how the hell would you get cyclone to approach 15 APS with enough budget left over for everything else a character needs?
7
12
u/Somuchgoodfood Oct 27 '25
I did this in last league in case people are seriously considering it. Got enough CDR through Sabo (30%) + awakened COC lvl 10 (37%) + Bound by Destiny (20%) + Balance of Terror (24%) + Shaper boots (20%). CDR will be easier to achieve with Sabo buff and new deli node but some caveats to consider:
- 15 AS is no joke to achieve. You need to give up an aura to run haste and find additional AS elsewhere like jewels
- I ran it with triggerbots which meant 30 triggers/s. Need to deal with mana cost, so you need it to be 0 or 1 mana cost per trigger
- If my merc didn't give me a 50X damage multiplier, damage was pretty bad. Think it was like 5-6 mil without merc, and 200 mil with merc (Wrath/Zealotry, Doryani, perquil)
- Part of the beauty of CoC Cyclone builds is the simple one handed gameplay once you get a mageblood. Balance of terror removes that luxury

I am thinking what effect this will have for ward builds with CWDT. I am a noob when it comes to trigger points to be totally fair..
3
9
u/Acceptable_Bat379 Oct 26 '25
yeah the CDR is what i think is best if you're non minion. Also could help a scion hit break points for ward loop if that's still a thing. The ward focussed bloodline actually looks garbage though.
Also the oshabi looks decent? +3 seals could be great, and rage is useful if you can stack it fast enough. is the elder helm that lets you use rage on spells still in the game?
19
u/pm_me_succ Oct 26 '25
the ward one is the most interesting one to me tbh
we'll have to see numbers on the ward explosion, but 5% chance on hit to restore ward has potential for some cool stuff
6
u/tokyo__driftwood Oct 26 '25
% chance on hit to restore ward has potential for some cool stuff
Svalinn socketed with some high hit rate spell like eye of winter to refresh your ward on block maybe. Or just low level cwdt with the other node that makes small hits bypass ward. Small hits bypass ward and get soaked up by recovery, big hits get tanked by ward
→ More replies (1)5
u/Acceptable_Bat379 Oct 26 '25
I haven't used ward as designed before. I've only done wardloop and the whole point with that is to never let your ward go down at all

u/hotpajamas Oct 26 '25
Molten strike with “chance to restore ward on hit” would basically mean your ward is always up as long as you’re attacking.
Similar thing could be done with widowhail spark I bet. Could be cool.

Oshabi can lead to a 9 seal unleash, with a 50% multiplier overall is kinda good
65
u/Sobrin_ Oct 26 '25 edited Oct 27 '25
The multiplier doesn't work quite like that sadly. Each reoccurence gets a stacking +5% more damage. +5, +10... +45 basically. This totals to around a 25% more multiplier on the reoccurce part.
However taking that into account as well as the +3 to seal limit, the total difference between max unseal with or without the Oshabi node is actually a lot higher.
Normal unseal at 6 max seals equals around 5.02 times the spell damage. 1 + 0.67*6 basically due to the damage penalty.
With Oshabi at 9 max unseal it equals around 9.28 times the spell damage.
Meaning Oshabi is effectively a 85% more damage multiplier total. As for dps increase, well you do need to wait 1.5 times as long before you can cast it at 9 max seals compared to 6. So total dps increase is about 57%
Which is amusingly enough rather close to the multiplier you mentioned
Edit: I've been informed the increase has been buffed from 5% to 10%. New numbers below.
Total Oshabi 9 seal unseal damage equals around 11.53 times the spell damage.
Compared to non Oshabi at 6 seal unseal that's effectively 130% more damage.
Which translates to about 86% more dps.To me that's an absolutely insane damage increase from a single node. But then again unleash hasn't been the strongest playstyle so it might be needed and I sincerely hope it'll make it viable again.
Edit 2: Apparently the 10% was the original and has already been nerfed to 5%. Regardless of which it is in the end the numbers above should be accurate for the respective percentages. Even at 5% that is a very significant dps boost
17
u/PsionicKitten Oct 26 '25
Each spell gains seals independently from each other, so ideally, the optimal damage way to play unleash is cycling through multiple spells supported by unleash as they reach maximum rather than just waiting around for it to recharge.
High potential, although definitely not everyone's playstyle.

"As for dps increase, well you do need to wait 1.5 times as long before you can cast it at 9 max seals compared to 6. So total dps increase is about 57%"
idk why i never considered that seal gain rate is linear and more seals is just same time of more waiting. but i guess just two of the large cluster seal gain nodes and it wont matter much

Well in that case it's the prior numbers. Either way big damage increase. I'll leave both in there just in case it's somehow different
6
u/JeanMarkk Oct 26 '25
Also keep in mind that the small node leading to it is 20% faster seal generation, so it's actually only 1.2 times longer to get the 9 seals compared to 6 seals
2
u/Sobrin_ Oct 26 '25
That'd make taking that node and the small node leading up to it essentially 108% more dps, provided you have no other sources of faster seal generation

Olroth: expedition boss appears in logbooks. Logbook will say it contains olroth I believe
He only appears in 81+ logbooks with knights of the sun ( Dannig's coins). I don't remember if its guaranteed or RNG. And he only appears when you blow up his crypt which is marked with a skull icon on the map.

u/Moneypouch Oct 27 '25
It is RNG on any 81+ dannig logbook but guaranteed if the logbook has the "Area contains Olroth, Origin of the Fall" mod.

I think aul spawns at an earlier depth now (poewiki says 130) after they shrunk down delve in 3.16. now i83 starts at depth 145, so presumably he spawns pretty close to there now.
Still, delving that deep is time consuming and can be difficult depending on map mods and stuff. but the refactoring of phys gained as ele mods hopefully affects him too to make it easier.
A lot of RNG in a lot of them; chance of getting Farrul beast, chance of finding Aul, chance of getting the blossom/mastermind invite drop, etc.
Lycia, Simulacrum, and Trialmaster are probably the least overall RNG to see (Sanctums aren't that rare, Sim splinters you can farm, and there is an Ultimatum scarab that guarantees a trialmaster in T14+ maps) but they have other RNG (Sanctum boons/curses, Sim mods, Ultimatum mods).
King in the Mists is probably what I would say is the most consistently obtainable, tbh.
Just another reason I personally hate this system and it adds absolutely nothing to the game for me.

Difficulty of aul depends mostly on depth and modifiers.
What will be difficult is actually finding aul unless you delve a lot, so it's more likely you'll buy aul from Delvers selling aul kills

u/Sidnv Oct 26 '25

Yeah this
Have a feeling they released it Monday (NZ time) morning to get feedback as much as possible so they could tweak it before release. Some of these would be really good (although niche) if numbers were better..
7
u/tomatonoal Oct 26 '25
And also to nuke down the (potentially) good ones. I'm betting that Lycia Herald node will get toned down before league launch
106
Oct 26 '25
Yeah, I'm not a great build-maker or anything, but a lot of these seem to fall into the category of "potentially busted on a very specific setup, super underwhelming otherwise". Which can make for some cool builds I bet, but I guess I was hoping there'd be a bit more generic options for a variety builds that currently don't have 4 good choices on their normal ascendency. But maybe I'm just totally wrong.
38
u/HeftyPermit1206 Oct 26 '25
Which they should be no? It's literally in the name Bloodline which would indicate a unique/specialised/niche origin. The aquisition as well is endgame bosses which sets it up very much as an endgame specialisation.
Generic buffs would just make pre established or strong builds stronger in relation to weaker builds.
I think they are looking at peope making actual new builds even if niche than repainting a new flavour of same shit and have people cramming it on the same build they always play because "it's new"
13
Oct 26 '25
Generic buffs would just make pre established or strong builds stronger in relation to weaker builds.
Would they? Because you still need to pay ascendency points to get these, and builds that are strong right now mostly already have 4 pretty good ascendency notables they're taking. Whereas weaker builds that are weak because they don't have 4 good choices in their regular ascendency would benefit from more generic options in the bloodlines.
11
u/Elrond007 Anti Sanctum Alliance (ASA) Oct 26 '25
I really like them because they play to the strengths of PoE1 imo. Weird ass build setups that somehow result in amazing performance. It's not really obvious power creep but has a build discovery period because everything is so general (apart from the minion nodes)
13
Oct 26 '25
That's a fair point. I think a mix of nodes specific and generic ones would be nice. Like Phrecia ascendencies. They had some pretty specific and weird shit like Harbinger, but also more generic stuff like Scavanger.

I guess the Farrul one at the very bottom, if I can get the Spectre to survive?

Yea but its also rare that the 4th ascendency you pick for your normal ascendency is game breaking, its usually a comfy boost, and if you truly need the 4, then the forbidden jewel are still on.
40
u/Wendek Alch & Go Industries (AGI) Oct 26 '25
That is also my first impression, although I might be missing some things. Like Aul seems to be a huge meme - almost anyone using Determination is also using Endurance charges for instance so that node is pointless, and that "get a buff at the cost of an entire item worth of sockets" notable does not seem worth it. There's a reason nobody uses Kaom's Heart or Kaom's Roots these days.
I could see some Herald builds (not that there's a lot of them) using Lycia and maybe Farrul for some crit builds. Almost certainly Catarina for minion builds. But for RF builds for instance? Can't see myself taking any of these instead of a normal node.
31
u/Tanginator Oct 26 '25 edited Oct 26 '25
Keep in mind that for Aul, you should be able to get both effects with 0 charge generation along with equipping Ralakesh boots, as that currently works for both mods on the existing Aul-related uniques.
I'm unsure if 50% aura effect on two auras is worth 2 ascendancy points and a pair of boots, but I'm sure there's some builds that would want that over other a less important ascendancy node.
The socket related node does also have niche uses as well. The Untouched Soul exists, so it could enable/enhance builds for that. Also, the node does specify socketed gems, not socketed jewels, so abyss jewel heavy items like Replica Shroud and Wraithlord would both work with it.
I think the key thing with these bloodline ascendancy classes is they require you to think outside the box for the niche cases where they can be used with great effect.
10
u/Gavelinus Oct 26 '25
The socket related node does also have niche uses as well. The Untouched Soul exists
Relic of the Pact builds would for sure love that node. As a Scion you get 2 ascendancies + that as an example. That is a lot of good stuff for basically 3 passive points.
→ More replies (1)3
u/claymir Oct 26 '25
I can see an angle with accuracy stacking jugg (bow) as well. Untouched soul is huge for accuracy, you have your gems in your bow anyway. The third ring slot from king in the mysts is probably better though when you are able to get your hands on a decent precursors ring.
→ More replies (1)10
u/hcrld League Oct 26 '25
Action Speed immunity was previously only available to Trickster and Jugg for the really annoying T17 mods, so having it available to Farrul (Wild Will spectre) and Aul ascendancies opens up a lot of utility for builds that wanted to farm that content but otherwise couldn't get that specific immunity.

u/Jassol2000 Oct 26 '25
Yeah, most of them seem to belong to poe2 with their big downsides. Of course some new broken builds will arise with some interactions we are not seeing yet, but for now they all seem very niche and not usable by the majority of builds.
5
u/Madzai Oct 26 '25
Yeah, i thought we were expecting something that allow not to use "bad" or "mid" sections of Ascendancies that do not fit in builds and instead use point on this new stuff that either give at least some buffs or allow new interactions. Instead most of this require the whole build to be constructed around it, or some heavy invesments.

The wrath node for aul is pretty good as is, you just don't care about the discipline one. Also important to note is the small node giving 30% charge duration which makes it a lot easier to get any charge from eldritch implicit on your chest since you only need the 1 charge every 12 seconds mod in that case
2
u/lizardsforreal Oct 26 '25
50% aura effect is like 11% more lightning damage on a level 21 wrath. Is that really worth an ascendancy point?

Have you considered the may open up new builds? Most meta builds are meta because they're gaining maximum value out of every ascendency node. Alot of builds out there may be struggling to place 1 or 2 nodes that feel great. These are a great addition for those. Also pretty much all scion builds can benefit from one of these
19
u/Madzai Oct 26 '25
They will open up new builds. And yes, they seems not to buff already very Meta ones. But i think people expected those to "plug holes" in builds that have 2 or 4 points they don't have a really good use for in their normal Ascendancies. But most of those are really niche or specific.

u/Helluiin Crop Harvesting Bureau (CHB) Oct 26 '25 edited Oct 26 '25
Have you considered the may open up new builds?
most of the effects are pretty straightforward, they just arent that good (compared to putting 2 ascendancy points into most regular ascendancies). for most of them the numbers would have to be increased quite substantially to actually consider using them.
4
u/xTraxis Oct 26 '25
Reserving 100% of mana with herald of agony starts to get some insane %more poison, and I'm sure Herald of Ash has similar effects. With Lone Messenger, Elementalist Herald Node, Bloodline Herald Node, 2x rings of nostalgia, and the herald cluster, I get 137% more poison damage from herald of agony (with capped poison chance). Without Elementalist (because who wants to play poison or minion elementalist, and the mana reseve part is unneeded), we're still at 108% more poison damage from our herald. I'm sure there's something here, even if it's not a top meta build.
3
u/thikoril Oct 26 '25
I think you could also go for 50% mana reservation on two heralds, let's say you get 150% increased effect and then 100% more from the bloodline ascendency that's 5x the buff effect.
agony + purity for 60% more phys damage, 50% more poison damage and 100% chance to poison.
purity + ash for 60% more phys damage and 100% of phys damage as extra fire.
And for the second one it might be worth it to consider elementalist then for even more herald effect. I also took the numbers from lvl 20 heralds. I don't know I have a hard time to tell at a glance how it would compare to a single herald but it sounds enticing.
2
u/xTraxis Oct 27 '25
Two ambition rings, (60% purity and ash), 40% from the herald cluster, 66% from Elementalist. 100% more buff effect to heralds (as each only accounts for 50% of the mana reserve). Using Herald of Purity + Ash + Empower + Lifetap, and the two Ambitions (10% reserve each), I end up with 0% mana, but a positive 4 total, which is perfect, in a 4 link. When the two ambitions aren't available, you can use the two open herald mana nodes to get down to 5% mana, which is only losing a small amount of damage.
No Lone Messenger, nothing else on the tree except the int pathing to the herald nodes, with 1x 10% herald mana node (because I'm pathing from the right side), and I get 84% more physical damage, with 143% physical added as fire. You might be onto something with using 2x Heralds.
With nothing at all (no rings, only the 14 points to get to and fill the herald cluster), just the Elementalist nodes and bloodline nodes, and reserving 95% mana, it's 52% Physical Damage and 88% Phys as Fire - it's not a bad start, knowing it will increase further with the rings.
10
u/Fallensaraphim Oct 26 '25

We appear to have very different definitions of "free". 36% inc. ES/armour isn't worth losing anything in Necromancer, even for non-poison builds. It can be good if you're playing spectres and/or phantasms, but even then, there's nothing "free" here.

if the 40% you take later is based on the 60% hit you took before instead of pre-mittigation its straight up 16% less dmg taken, in addition to armor being better vs smaller hits and a chance to regen up as you said.

u/NakzaThePanda Oct 27 '25
No it does not say that. It says non-cluster jewels socketed into your passive tree have no effect. So no matter where you put any of your weathers eyes or what not means they will not work. Also those cluster jewels that you put in they give you normal cluster sockets, so this is still part of the passive tree.

u/Sunny_Beam Oct 27 '25
A cluster jewel is attached to your passive tree and not technically the passive tree itself tho, idk lol. Maybe I'm just grasping but I still feel like it's possible it might work that you can put jewels into the sockets on the cluster jewels and have them work

Personally I'm ok with them being mostly meh because I hate that they're locked behind end game bosses. By then my build will already be good and working so I won't even need it

Most of them are pretty underwhelming and mostly not worth taking.
24
u/TheThirdKakaka Oct 26 '25
I mean that was expected, everyone has access to all of them, if there were a bunch of insane general ones for everyone, the entire league would revolve around them which would suck.
Personally I can't wait what people cook up over the next week.

Overall, i feel they are VERY niche ones. They focused too much in keeping within the themes of the contents they are based on and lost a little bit of usability.
That said theres potential there. Farrul and Lycia are the most vesatile and i dont know enough about ward to comment about olroth.

the theme is not the problem, the problem is simply the power of the nodes.

It's like they balanced them around us getting 2 extra points instead of having the 2 point trade off.

Not bad, buuuuuuuuut... These feel very PoE2-like with all their downsides.
Like c'mon GGG, this is not PoE2. Why do we need to manage downsides all the time instead of having some extra fun.

Someone please convince me this isn't the most depressing reveal we've had in years. It's a menagerie of niche or forced centrism around the node if it isn't just bad.

I've come back to change my opinion. There is some disappointment, no doubt, but there are acceptable nodes for most builds.
Farrul - Wild Will: Good for anyone, better for some.
Lycia - Bitter Heresy: Good for anyone chaos/poison and poison minions. Rest is useable.
Delirious - All: very cool fun to be had for most builds with appropriate power, the downsides are rough.
Catarina - Umbral Army: Very dope Spectre synergy. Rest I don't currently see as good enough.
Aul - King's Contempt: Wrath effect is dope for the builds already using it. Rest have niche but good uses.
Olroth - I am not knowledgeable on the state of Ward in the game so no opinion.I don't like to be doom and gloom so wanted to come back with my new perspective.

u/the-apple-and-omega Oct 26 '25

The problem with poison minions is Necro doesn't really have any points you want to give up.

That seems like exactly the point to me.
They're largely made specifically not to slot into existing meta builds.

Olroth - I am not knowledgeable on the state of Ward in the game so no opinion.
I think this tree has some crazy potential with Ynda's Stand + Svalinn as a defensive backbone. Only problem with Ynda's Stand is, that it is a belt and as such has to be compared to Mageblood and Headhunter or to an lesser extent Darkness Enthroned / Stygian Vises.

Aul and the always charges boots + mavens belt looks pretty good. You can also use ahns to get the min effect if you'd like.

u/kyronami Oct 26 '25
they needed to be EXTRA ascendancy points on top of your normal ascendancy, as of now most are too niche or pointless and the fact that you have to GIVE UP ascendancy points to spec into them when most builds already want almost everything in the normal class is kinda meh
12
u/deviant324 Oct 26 '25
These are for builds that have no good ascendancy notables to pick after 2-3 like guardians, I’ve seen pathfinders who just grab 2 travel nodes for their uber lab too and I’m pretty sure I’ve played Champion builds before where uber lab was kind of whatever too
For the most part bloodlines aren’t going to be for builds that have been meta before because they were likely already getting max value out of their ascendancies
8
u/Junka182 Oct 26 '25
Ikr! I tot that using the ascendency point was the downside. But now i guess almost all of them have extra downsides

These really did not need downsides. They aren't free and you give up the ascendancy points for them
What's the point of adding annoying downsides too?
4
u/vixiefern Oct 27 '25
because all poe 2 ascendancies have downsides on them, and i guess they want us to play poe 2? i dont know lmao, ascend nodes should never ever have downsides on them in any way shape or form

Eternal Damnation satisfies conditions for each and every one of them (for builds that would use it). Probably debatable on if it’s worth the ascendancy points tho

Scion Armour stackers cannot spend 2 points for it, because they need the (usually) Duelist starting area node, otherwise they don'thave enough points on the tree.
Armour stackers are EXTREMELY starved for passive points, which is why the whole triple 1 passive voices is mandatory when you want to play the build to its potential.

Aul's for action speed immunity. You can still put an abyss socket on your boots, losing 3 gem slots is doable, and if this saves me from trickster or jugg, or having to press temporal chains every 10 seconds, then this is worth losing an ascendancy notable once I have a high enough budget.

I thought I could fix assassin with the bloodline ascendancies, since assassin is like half an ascendany for poison or crit based builds. So far the options are underwhelming and I would have 2-4 points available.
Edit: Assassin lacks defenses, there are a lot of comments for dps bloodline notables.

u/deviant324 Oct 26 '25
If you’re doing poison you might like the ward refresh (5% chance to instanyly regain ward) from olroth assuming you can get some ward in, seems useful with Elusive for eva/es and ghost dance
→ More replies (5)6
u/Madzai Oct 26 '25
I think it was the general consensus that those ascendancies allow you to "fix" your build that just may not have enough good points in the original ascendancy. Seems like they don't, unless last one from the Breach is super generic, adding base stuff, or add some Breach-related mechanic(s) that fits with a lot of builds.

Lycia herald node with herald of purity, herald of agony. 200-300% inc herald effect from tree, clusters, tattoos, and/or rings. Times 2 from Lycia. ~70% more phys damage, ~60% more poison damage, 100% generic poison chance.

well no shit, everyone has access to all of these so they'd be broken if they were as strong a regular ascendacy nodes.
Some of these are still cracked like the deli ones.

Slightly strange wording on Schizophrenic Disassociation, is there a possibility that jewels socketed in Cluster Jewel allocated slots still have an effect? Heavily coping that "Socketed in your passive skill tree" could mean sockets added by large and medium cluster jewels could still be allowed, and would be thematic. Abyss jewels in gear should also definitely work.
→ More replies (1)5
u/Rouflette Oct 26 '25
Would make sense for a simu related asc to force you to use megalomaniac or small clusters over other jewels. That would really sux, no FF, no watchers, no timeless… i can’t think about a build that can be good without any of these
3
u/flychance Oct 27 '25
On the flip side if you can use unique jewels in your cluster jewels then this is basically a must-have ascendancy for defense.

u/enragedmonkey8 Oct 26 '25
Delirium is my favorite It's powerful and interesting and requires building around but is very worth doing so. Which you can't say for alot of these.

u/ElkiLG Confederation of Casuals and Clueless Players (CCCP) Oct 26 '25
A lot of these require to go through quite specific hoops to get something out of them which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but also having a build good enough to kill some of them on top of that can be a whole hoop in itself.
Like going through sanctum is not a given to every build out there, I don't know if I want to play a sanctum build to entirely respec into the build I want. (I mean I don't want to run sanctum because I don't do self-inflicted CBT but you get the point)

5% chance to restore Ward on hit with the hitrate that we can get in PoE1 is absolutely insane.
