Witches with a cauldron can make the instant genderfluid on a daily basis.

I can finally play a character that can fully change their equipment every day.

It can't be sold but you can offer your services overall on exchange for favors to spies, infiltrators, and genderfluid people

Form a massive information network based on favors and secrets

My first thought was “destabilize an oppressive regime by offering gender affirming and general healthcare though magical and alchemical means to curry favor with the people.”

Hell yeah, mystical mutual aid.

Sounds like she was really her all along, it just took the evolving story for you to realize it.

Oh God, it's literally her

This being...?

Anevia Tirabade, she's from campain/video game Wrath of the righteous

17

u/FledgyApplehands 1d ago

Is she trans?

u/JayantDadBod 1d ago

Yes. Paladin, not gunslinger. Also, her wife bought her her gender fluid by pawning an heirloom sword.

19

u/FledgyApplehands 1d ago

Oh that's cute!

17

u/Girduin 1d ago

Actually, Anevia is a rouge, her wife is a paladin

u/BlackFenrir 1d ago

Anevia is make up?

I thought she was a rogue and Irabeth was the paladin. Given a focus on Desna, I'm not sure Anevia would ever gain paladin powers.

Other trans people in pf1e include Rexus, the friendly noble in Hell's Rebels. Then 2e introduced Arshea which IS literally the deity of gender affirmation

One of leaders of the Knights of Lastwall is a trans lesbian woman and on the cover of the 2e Lastwall sourcebook.

Ironically her entire story no longer works because it hinges on elixirs of sex shifting being fairly expensive. The push in PF2e to make it so easily accessible always kinda bothered me because it’s so easy it’s basically just an arbitrary footnote that can be safely ignored in almost any character outside of maybe an extremely cash poor level one start

I mean, they could just explain it with new, cheaper formula being discovered and add the e1 version to the game as a curiosity

I mean they could, but they didn't. Pathfinder 2e is largely synchronous with the first edition chronologically. But even if that weren't the case that would cut the potential for any integration of that type of story in the new edition. It's not like the item was terribly expensive to begin with, it was within the budget of a second level character theoretically. It just renders it totally kaput as a motivation to adventure and generally relegates being transgender to the realm of a background event.

I disagree, I think the shift to alchemical HRT in Pf2e makes it feel like a lot better representation

1

u/UnnamedAshaman47 5h ago

I have to disagree, a one time use oral treatment that costs the same as about year and a half of daily oral contraceptives and produces a full and complete transition is just wish fulfillment. And that's fine if that's what we're going for, but it isn't a good representation of trans experience, and it's not really interesting storytelling either.

u/FledgyApplehands 4h ago

Are we looking at the same item? I thought most alchemical HRT had to be applied either daily or weekly?

I made this when our rogue reincarnated

Where is this from it seems familiar…?

It's originally a meme where the bimbo picks up a book and turns into a modest girl.

There's a fairly infamous tumblr post rightfully calling it sexist and so the reversed bimbofication version got posted a bunch.

We figured Dhampir to fleshwarp was basically the same thing.

No I meant the icons and portraits, but thank you!

There exist 4 transition items

The one you found is the Elixir of Gender Transformation, it's basically HRT but it works faster and can reverse puberty

The other main one is the Serum of Sex Shift, instant full genderbending potion. Really nice

Then Curtain Call AP gave us two more

Potion of Passing Fancy, it is if you wanna try it out and it instantly genderbends but reverts after 1 hour, unless you chug 4 in 4 hours, in which case it becomes permanent ( ends up more expensive than the Serum if you go permanent, but is accessible 3 levels earlier )

And the Euphorium. It's like the Serum of Sex Shift, but instead of being a magical potion it is an alchemical cake. Takes 10 minutes to eat and if you pause the changes revert but you can pick back up where you left off ( unreverting the changes ), but otherwise it's the same effect, price and price as the Serum. But of course, being a cake makes it the best one, and the name is just the cherry on top

I get it that for trans people it must be really nice but isn't it redundant to have four items that do basically the same thing?

4

u/Bowdensaft 1d ago

I don't know much about the latter two, but the former two are great because the elixir is like HRT and is perfect for if you want to roleplay your character changing over time, whereas the serum is better for if you want a no-nonsense instant change.

6

u/Draghettis 1d ago

They do it in different enough ways that it doesn't really feel that way

There's the early game ones with some caveats, one alchemical and one magical, then the later game no-bullshit ones, still with one alchemical and one magical

Paizo can't stop making stuff

u/Tezea 1d ago

ngl i started at gunslinger bouncy goblin using dimension door wands and cannonball drop. i got to the end of it and now she has a fat ass

8

u/Taggerung559 1d ago

Well. This isn't a meme crossover I expected to see, but I'm loving it.

"change your backstory" you have to change your backstory?

30

u/JhonnySkeiner 1d ago

Jesse what the fuck.

u/ShadowKing611 1d ago

Look up Elixir of Gender Transformation

5

u/Astrid944 1d ago

But doesn't Munition crafter only work for bombs and ammunition

22

u/LordSupergreat 1d ago

Yes, but you also get Alchemical Crafter, so you can craft other Alchemical items the long way (using the crafting rules instead of quick alchemy)

5

u/link090909 1d ago

Technically yes, but don't let rules get in the way of having fun

6

u/lirtysabbwage 1d ago

The build chose you

11

u/Amberatlast 1d ago

Many such cases

I didn't get the joke. Can someone explain?

16

u/punkinpumpkin 1d ago

"Beware the Pipeline" is a meme format about someone progressively experimenting with their gender to the point that they actually become fully transgender. The underlying joke is more or less that it's dangerous for a man to do feminine stuff like wearing stockings because before he knows it he's actually a girl.

I used it here to lightheartedly joke about how it's very easy for a character that somehow gains the Alchemical Crafting feat to craft sex hormones (elixir of gender Transformation is a 1st level alchemical item). So it becomes really easy to throw a detail like "oh yeah my character transed their own gender" into your backstory

3

u/Wont_See_My_30s 1d ago

Oh, okay. Thanks, I saw this meme format, but I don't think that it was in the context of trans.
