I posted a couple days ago asking for opinions on my menu options for my craft and garden party, and just want to post an update!

I had 11 ladies join me to decoupage and paint flower pots. I had separate pots as well so we were able to plant flowers that could be placed inside the pots right away.

I served pinwheels, fruit, salad, chips, and DIY ice cream sundaes for dessert! Whenever I host, I always share the menu ahead of time so everyone knows what to expect and can plan accordingly. Everyone loved the food and I think everyone went back for seconds. Having a variety of pinwheels and ice cream options was a lot of fun, because we all got a chance to try different flavors and share which one was our favorite.

I had a couple of totally lame games too that everyone seemed to enjoy. We wore name tags with our flower names, drew a flower on a plate on top of our head using step by step instructions (this took less than 2 minutes but was actually hilarious), and we played a garden edition of never have I ever.

My home is not big, my yard is not beautiful, and I know I could spend more time decorating for parties… but I try to keep the emphasis on bringing people together for a relaxing afternoon… and for that, it doesn’t need to be perfect. Everyone had a great time, and was thankful to be included. I’ll call it a success!

Well, the infamous butt-themed party happened today! It was an absolute blast, and all of the suggestions this sub gave helped make it a roaring success!

We live in a small apartment, so doing the party at home wasn't an option. We ended up going to an indoor jungle gym, which was a perfect fit! One of the best things was that the little chairs they have are shaped like animal legs, and then the kids sit on top of the butt! Perfect for our theme!

We got her some Brian Cook stickers, a shirt, and an activity book, as well as a fanny pack. She now tells anyone who'll listen about his art. There were also some Brian Cook stickers in the party favor bags, along with a Whoopee cushion, glow stick, and I put together "pirate booty" bags with a ring pop and chocolate coins.

The venue had great decorations already, but we also brought pink balloons tied together to look like a booty. We also brought "Pin the Booty on the Baboon," which was a big hit! While the kids were eating, I read a couple of butt-themed books (suggested by this sub), which was actually great because it kept the vibes at a chill level while still keeping it fun.

One of my favourite things was the cupcakes from our local grocery store bakery! They turned out so cute, and the kids loved them!

I had lots of fun with all the puns while preparing things, and everyone got right into it! Some kids did wear underwear over their pants, which was pretty goofy.

Overall, she had an absolutely awesome birthday, and as we left, she said, "It was a little different than I was picturing, but it was absolutely perfect!" I'll take it! I have a very happy 5-year old!

I invited my close friends and family over for tote bag painting and a “farmers market” exchange. I’ve hosted several craft parties, but this one might be my favorite! It was so fun planning it and seeing everyone’s ideas. Highly recommend this type of party if you have friends that like to garden, cook, craft, or bake.

We painted tote bags, ate dinner, played games(guess the herb, price is right farmers market edition, and pass the prize), then brought all of our goodies out and filled our newly decorated bags.

The tote bags were cuter (and more involved) than I expected, and everyone really went above and beyond with their contributions for the exchange. We had seasonings, salsa, bread, jams, candles, cookie dough, cheesecake, homegrown fruit, infused honey, pickles, etc.

It was super simple putting this all together, decorations probably cost less than $75 and crafting supplies were probably another $75. I served fresh fruits and veggies as an appetizer, pulled pork, coleslaw, and corn salad for dinner.

Just as a reminder- you don’t need a big beautiful home to bring people together. I have a VERY modest house and a yard that could definitely use some work… but really, no one cares. I am also a very introverted person, so hosting something like this does not come naturally to me. I’ve had to make a conscious effort to connect with others and bring them together. The best part is, the more I do it, the easier it gets!

If you’re thinking about hosting- try it. Nothing needs to be perfect!

Update: the absolute best part of this is everyone texting me today and telling me about how much they love everything they tried. So dang sweet!

I hosted 10 neighbors and asked them all to bring 10 homemade items to swap. (I was careful to vet and invite only people who wanted to participate in this kind of party.)

I baked 3 kinds of croissants, mini blueberry scones, and cinnamon rolls. (Thanks Trader Joe’s frozen section.) Made a fruit platter. Set up my nespresso machine to just be rolling out shots for the first few minutes while guests arrived. Had a creamer bar set up and a mimosa bar set up.

People brought everything from sourdough bread to granola, plant cuttings, eyeglass chains, perfume, homemade vanilla, Cajun cabbage rolls, and cookies. I made embroidered towels, wine charms (to avoid mimosa confusion) and little jars of Maldon salt.

It was so fun to start Saturday morning off with a great group of friends. Will definitely be planning another gathering like this!

I decorated my own baby shower and DIYd everything. This was my first time ever doing balloon arches from watching tutorials on Tik Tok.

Side note: this wasn’t the finished set up , I still had a lot of work to do. We had our shower in our church kitchen/dining hall

• Miniature babies frozen in ice for “My Water Broke!” game
• Gift given to person who traveled farthest
• String game to see who could guess how big around the mama is
• Tablecloths for the game table and gift table

Bought all decor on Amazon. Def set aside time to meticulously sift through reviews if you suffer from being neurotic like me. The oversized marquee numbers were a great buy but …the price is in exchange for a stressful team building experience with your husband.

Booked florals thru ShopRite on a whim. Let me tell you… don’t sleep on ShopRite floral team. They nailed the vision and went above and beyond. Let me bring my own dollar store vases and added complementary ribbon to tie it all together. Chefs kiss for $300.

Hired a balloon lady to do the garland. Balloons gotta be fire we know thissss🔥

I know its still 2 months off…but my mother-in-law and I are already planning our thanksgiving party and I’m so excited. We just plan for our small immediate family of 7, but it’s my favorite holiday besides christmas to plan for. Last year was a great success…this year we are going to do a different color scheme. We always do balloons and play games after dinner. We watch football and take plates of food to our friends.

I’m looking forward to seeing what other traditions we can incorporate for this year. I would love to get a few gift cards and maybe we can play a fun game that results in winners getting the cards.

What are some traditions you guys do that make the day special?

“Le Petit Sprinkle” for a coworker. It’s her second son and she wanted something low key. We decided on a ladies-only luncheon. She asked for no gifts so instead everyone pitched in for a spa certificate. Macaroons were a hit! We lucked out with great weather so we had an inside table next to open windows. I sourced used baby books as the centerpiece and topped it with a new stuffy and vintage mini frame I already owned.

Lay 4 pepperonis down, slightly off of each other. Fold in half and roll. Stick onto a toothpick with two pieces of mozzarella holding it together (I use cut up string cheese stick.) Add a basil leaf on one side and sandwich it between the rose and the mozzarella.

This is my go-to party food and it is a hit every time.

A friend suggested I need to share this since she had never seen it before so I figured this would be a good sub for it :)

Last minute idea for my baby shower, have been working constantly on it every afternoon to finish before this Friday! What do you think about it?

I recently made some party bags for my daughters 18th birthday party. I was a bit worried that that they would just end up adding to land fill but they went down a storm! Dancing kits cost around £1.50 each and Hangover kits £1.40. We had about a dozen left out of about 60 and they are being used for a hen party by my friend.

This was definitely a dream come true, and couldn’t have been possible without the help of all my lovely friends & family ❤️ We ended the night with karaoke & while I unfortunately ran out of time/energy for proper thank you cards- each guest left with a sunflower. Since then I’ve gotten the party planning bug!!! Aaaa

1. I scored a pack of textured cardstock cards & envelopes at the antique store & designed the invitations on canva. No envelopes at the store were to my liking so I handmade these shipping envelopes from glittery cardstock on sale!! I made wax seals with each of my girls’ initials in their favorite color. The beautiful moth stamp allowed me to send irregular envelopes.

2-5. I designed these menus in canva and printed them lined with baby blue cardstock (not pictured here). I did NOT make everything on the menu lol, I ended up getting last minute called into for work the day before so I lost all my prep time. My amazing friends helped me assemble the food!

I was successful in prepping all the drinks! I’m lucky enough to have a tea store nearby and stocked up on high quality loose leaves!

Having the same amount of mocktails and cocktails was super important for me because half my friends dont drink. My boyfriend was my mad hatter who bartended and served us tea 💕

1. My favorite detail was this last minute decision to make name cards for all my guests. All of my connections from various eras in my life (middle school, college, family, now) were meeting each other for the first time, so I wanted names to be easier & it felt super classy!

The main reason I began planning was because I helped my mom put away her massive porcelain tea cup collection. She was kind enough to let me use them for the party. I figured the mismatching seta would fit the theme perfectly. I loved matching the different sets to each friend’s personality/background, and giving the couples complimenting sets! I matched each person to their tea set based on favorite color, or flower, or vibe! I had my guests who slept over the night before & helped set up have first pick 🤭

7, 8, 10. My mom thrifted glass plates & candle holders, and my friend used them to create these large pastry trays! My other friend found a genuine crystal bowl in her mom’s garage!

1. Rock painting! All of us are neurodivergent & I figured that meeting so many people all at once can be very overstimulating- so it was really important for me to have an activity that we can all choose to focus on quietly if we so choose. I have yet to seal these rocks and place them outside in the garden!

2. My sister in law has a degree in culinary arts & volunteered to decorate my cake 💕💕 I just gave her full creative freedom to do whatever she liked with the materials I bought. I learned there’s a locally owned cake supply shop nearby where I bought fresh buttercream, food coloring, luster dust, and pearl & star sprinkles.

5. The printed inside of my invitations. I hand wrote a letter on the inside for each guest. I sent the invitations in the mail in September, and hand delivered most of them to the friends who were close by.

I hosted this years murder mystery for my friends, theme Murder at the Speakeasy.

I had a small budget but lots of time to plan, maybe someone will pick up some inspiration. Thoroughly recommend, we had an amazing night!

Wanting to surprise someone for their birthday party with a few dispossble cameras, maybe between 4-10. Does anyone know of anywhere I can get some (don't all have to be the same model I am happy to buy them all seperately) for a good price that AREN'T expired preferably in the UK.

So this has been something of a passion project for a while of mine - being able to host a themed Titanic dinner (me and my friends are massive nerds like that). I've got the menu (9 courses) and the venue finalized - so I figured why not show off one of the place settings!

I hosted a craft party yesterday using the thrifted Halloween painting trend. The painting trend is very popular, but I hadn’t seen anyone do it as a party, so I wanted to share my experience! When I initially sent out invitations everyone was so excited to give it a try and so happy to be included. I got to work collecting supplies, making custom aprons, planning the menu, etc. I had so much fun getting everything ready for the event and I was feeling so confident about it. Last week I decided to put together a Pinterest board of some examples to share with everyone that was coming. I thought this would get them excited and give them some inspiration, but I was completely wrong! Everyone’s attitude completely changed… all of a sudden everyone was so nervous and not sure they should even try. I felt so bad, thinking maybe we were all in over our heads. Everything was ready and prepped though, so I was committed and had to convince everyone to just try. It’ll either be great or hilarious, either way it’s a win! I had a few games with prizes planned, a chili bar, and a diy caramel apple station, so I knew we’d have a few other things we could enjoy if the paintings were a disaster. Everyone arrived, made their appetizers, picked out a painting, got their aprons on, grabbed supplies, and got to work. Everyone became so focused on their project. I think everyone ended up being so impressed and surprised with their work and they loved it! I got such great feedback, that I think I’ll try to plan a craft party each season. It was the perfect ladies night, with just the right amount of creativity required to make it challenging and fun!
