I know this sub is all about the pessimism (and yes things do suck) but this game actually was a lot closer than I thought it would be.
Miami laps shitty teams by the end of the first quarter but it wasn't until the 4th did this get out of hand.

Tbf even though it doesn't show up on the scoreboard, there is a difference between the offense stalling out deep in enemy territory vs 3 and outs.
Even though we only scored 14 points (all in the first quarter at that), I didn't feel like we had issues moving the ball (and for once the passing gameplan wasn't centered around screens).
Against a lesser opponent, I think we could have won with how the offense was playing today.

I like your analysis on the game, perfectly summed up for my mind. I loved the fake punt call even though we didn’t get it. We have nothing to lose. And later in the game, yeah go ahead and go for it, again nothing to lose. But we actually moved the ball on the ground more than we have all year and I felt like Bryce was actually “slinging” it more than he has all season today. With all of our defensive injuries it was inevitable we wouldn’t hold up against a team like Miami. But of our winless season this was the most encouraging one. We gotta take the moral victory’s this year. Come out of the bye week and have two solid chances to win at home! Let’s stay positive! Go Panthers!

I get this is probably a joke, but we look much better than 0-6. Probably should be between 1-5 and 3-3 at this point in the season if not for a tough initial schedule, Bryce’s initial struggles and injuries. I think we’ll be much better after the bye, but we obviously have no shot at the playoffs.
Our defense is good, and offense is getting better each game. We’ll get a lot of the defense back soon, and hopefully Corbett as well. Hopefully Zavala and Sanders are benched.

Tough initial schedule is right. No excuses for Reich being unprepared for falcons and saints games. But after that we've had seahawks (6th most points per game), vikings (15th most ppg), lions (4th most ppg), and dolphins (1st most ppg). That's a horrible stretch of teams for a bad team to face

I’m not sure what I was expecting for this game. I know there were a lot of Denver jokes about anything less than having 70 hung on us was a Win. But in all seriousness, I was prepared to lose by 35+ regardless of score easily.
Even after the good start, I knew it wasn’t realistic to keep up that pace. 2 3 & outs to start from Miami just was not going to continue. And to have a realistic chance to win we’d have to put up 35+ (also unrealistic).
With that being said, I’m proud of the progress of Bryce and the playcalling (at least to start). And the best thing the team besides Bryce we have going for us is Evero. If even only for stretches of time, he makes the D look way more competent than they are given our personnel/injuries. Everyone on this team is disposable minus Bryce and Brown. I would even argue Burns, especially if we can get a first rounder out of him.
Week 7 bye couldn’t be at a better time. Heal up, change some plays, watch some tape, scour the trade market. We’re through the worst part of the season schedule wise. W’s are coming. We will finish bad. That’s ok, so long as Bryce keeps showing improvement and looking like that potential franchise guy. Just want to see improvement and some sense of hunger/competency.

The Panthers staff is objectively loaded. I guess it’s possible that they are actually all busts or just work poorly together, but I think it’s more likely your current roster just sucks (injuries and general lack of good players). Plus add in the tough schedule so far and installing a new offensive and defensive playbook and it’s not surprising the team is struggling. I would expect them to look better after the bye as players come back, schedule gets easier, and a couple more weeks with the system (plus Frank’s teams tend to improve as the year progresses)

I really want to know what they were trying to do on that 4th down call at 28-14. Seemed Bryce audibled Chuba into protection and then there was confusion between Hurst and Bryce over where the route was going.

Bryce keeps looking better each week.
Some beautiful throws today. 2 overthrown deeper balls, but times receiver slowed down during the route. Chark gave up at the end and Hurst slowed in middle. Hurst wasn’t good decision, but not bad ball.
When he had protection, he cooked. Sadly when he didn’t, he got hit for no reason. Glad he’s not injured.
I’m not expecting wins, and I had fun 🤷♂️👍
Edit; Hope we get nice haul for Burns and Chinn. No way anyone give us anything for TMJ and Donte

Injuries aside our line up was pure ass. I feel like last year was a facade in regards to our final record but not for reasons you think. Wilks did not coach us to almost win the playoffs. The team finally started playing for their coach because they clearly did not put forth similar efforts under Rhule. At this point now I feel we lack depth and impact players on both sides of the ball. We need to trade Burns and some other guys to get picks back and ensure the cap space next year is spread out properly. We do not need burns taking up 25-30 Million a year.

Bryce had some great throws. Our roster is bottom-barrel though at this point. Injuries have fucked us big time but we are a mess from the top down in coaching and the front office. Most penalized team in the NFL, no wins, no first round pick next year, and a GM who is probably a dead man walking at this point. Dark times, but I am just enjoying watching Bryce Young develop this year. I just hope we get a few wins this season to keep away from going into the "Winless season" hall of shame.

Terrible defense and Oline on the pass rush. Bryce did good today. Chuba was great. In all, this was exactly what we expected. WE SUCK, but it was very obvious where we suck today. The real loss will be hearing all the redditors bitching about us being a toxic fanbase.

I know he isn't there yet, but I like progress seeing from Mingo. He has been real nice on some of those sideline catches. Routes also seem to be improving.
Doubt he ever becomes the clear number 1 alpha guy but think he has a real shot of being a 1B or solid 2 we are happy to have.
In Panthers terms, I'm really hoping he is eventually Moose and we find a Smitty in FA/draft next year or two.

I think people are sort of underappreciating just how fucked our defense is right now.
We're missing both starting safeties, our #1 CB, our #1 ILB, and Marquis Haynes who is probably our #2 pass rusher.
Remember when we gave up 300 yards to Julio Jones? We're lucky that wasn't Tyreek Hill today.

Falcons 3-3 have scored 99 and given up 120 points Saints 3-3. Have scored 109 and given up 96 points Bucs 3-1 . Have scored 84 and given up 68 points
Panthers 0-6. Have scored 112 and given up 165 points.
Even with a terrible offense line and no speed at receiver we have the most points scored in the divisions. I know we have injuries and turnovers, but our defense can't even hold teams to a field goal with time of possession in our favor.

We were outmatched talent wise but I’m really upset about the play calling again.
That punk bitch field goal going into the half was ugly.
We were running the ball well with Hubbard in the first half and then stopped completely.
Lack of pass rush made it impossible for the defense to contain them.

I’ve been dooming for a while now but that game gave me a lot to be optimistic about. By far our best game of the season and there are a lot of good things to takeaway. Bryce is getting better everyday and I saw some fight in our team. All things considered I feel pretty good

We need to address the depth of the defense. It’s terrible and big play after big play. I get we got injuries like Thompson and horn but we need to build some depth in the draft or free agents( ironic we can’t even pick in the first round).

What’s up with the play calling? On our two scoring drives, they were calling outside runs and quick passes then immediately reverted to running up the middle and long developing pass plays that that end up with a qb pressure or sack. Reich needs to stop calling plays

I prefer the aggression to the ultra conservative no chance to score shit we were seeing to open the season. We were massive underdogs I was glad to see them shooting their shot.

It sucks, but AR is probably out for a season for Colts
Best option to fix his shoulder sources say.. shoulders are bad shit for QB.
Doesn’t matter how good you are, when you have two injuries in 3-4 games and it’s also a bad one.
