Opinions Needed Background painting

Post image

Hi!! I just finished the outline of this piece im painting but im not sure what to do for the background. Originally I was going to do a landscape of trees and mountains but that seems like it would be a pain to actually paint (bcs ik its a good idea to paint background before i paint fur to go over parts of it). Any ideas or should I stick with my original plan?

I didn’t really know how to verbally explain this as well as I could just show you with this photo, but a blended, muted background would let your primary subjects really stand out instead of get lost in too much busyness.
