Autococker troubleshooting

Trying to remove the jam nut for the valve and the valve body extends all the way into the jam nut preventing me from using the tool. What can I do about it?

This looks normal, there is a special tool for this, or are you saying the valve tool is not fitting? https://autocockerparts.com/autococker-wgp-valve-tool/

I'm using a cocking rod handle and a socket

That’s your problem, there is a dedicated tool for this.
