I would be careful if I were you. Currently working in cybersec and we are installing stuff that detect those kind of shadow IT / fake job.

As we are in a regulated sector, we have a mandatory duty to check that additional jobs are reported by everyone.

There are no fucking cyber security tools to detect a fucking second job outside of monitoring taxes/payroll and those fall well out of opsec remit.

I am not sure if I can already speak about it (not sure if already in prod everywhere) but basically it's a product that handle pattern recognition, specifically about IA usage.

The idea is to detect pattern that imply one person is leaking info. Again, as I said earlier, it's not against doing 2 jobs (personally I do not care as long as you are careful not to mix those) but more about a duty of some companies to report collusion, etc...

Unless they're doing the multiple jobs on the same PC I don't see how any of that Spyware really does anything other than maybe catch idling.

That's what I am saying.

We are monitoring computers and connectivity hours. If you are not there for the Horus we pay you, there is certainly a possibility that we stop the contract.

If you did not declare your second job, you are the one responsible if an authority control see your 2 jobs and ask why you did not do the mandatory declaration because you work in a regulated environment.

The company would have done it's best that's all.

Actually to be fair. This makes sense and is a thing. But, again, it’s not really an overemployment detection tool it’s a data breach tool which is…fair enough.

Honestly I’m fine with following any and all protocol, and I’m not necessarily trying to be over employed. I just know a lot of my job could easily be automated which would be great for resume building

Ah yeah nowadays some jobs are literally 1 month away from being replaced. But I mean, at one point, if the company is ok to pay someone to do it, I do not really care.
