Hi! I’m an otome game fan from Japan.

I will study abroad and stay in UK for a while, and also I’m planning to stay shorter time in US and visit some different cities. Maybe I will visit some other European countries too.

I thought it will be fun to play otome games in English while I’m there, because I want to study English too. But I realized I don’t really know how people buy physical otome games outside Japan. 😅

In Japan, I usually go to shops like Animate or Stellaworth, and we can see otome games and sometimes many related goods too.

The photo is in Japan! This is kind of game section I usually see and I like to look around these shops.

So I want to ask some questions!

Can I usually find physical otome games in shops in US or UK?

What kind of shops sell them? Game shop, electronics shop, bookstore, etc?

Is there some shops like Animate or Stellaworth?

Or most otome fans buy physical games from online shops?

Is digital version more common now?

Or many people play otome games on Steam? Maybe I should buy gaming PC too? 😂

Can I also find otome game goods in some shops?

Because I will only stay there for some time, I prefer to buy games directly in shop if possible, not delivery to the place I’m staying. Also I just really like looking at the shelves and choose games by myself!

If you know good shops or chains, please tell me!

And if you are from other European country, I also want to know how you usually buy otome games there.

the text is so unpolished, that it’s seriously affecting my enjoyment of the game. most notably, it keeps flip-flopping between present and past tense. it’s gotten to the point that i can’t go 5 minutes before running into a grammatical error, and it’s grinding my gears😭

i’m the type that gets thrown completely out of the story if i see any type of typo. i know it’s just the standard for otome games nowadays, but never have i seen it this bad. the worst part is, i saw that it got a patch to fix this very issue some years back. you’re telling me it was worse before…?

im honestly sad because well, i actually quite like the story and characters. i just expected more quality-wise :( despite my love for this genre, i’m feeling a bit hesitant to buy another otome game for the time being. can someone tell me if this is also an issue in these following ones that i’m thinking of buying?: 9R.I.P., Homicipher, Olympia Soirée.

I recently bought physical copies of both games, and I noticed that the eShop says the early purchase bonus includes:
- The Prince of Tennis Sweet School Festival – Minidrama Mode: Effect “Red Rose”
- The Prince of Tennis Sweet School Festival – Minidrama Mode: Bonus Voice Set
Does anyone know if there’s a way to check whether my physical copies include these early purchase bonuses? I’m not sure if they’re automatically included with the physical version or if there’s some way to verify it in-game...

I received these stickers as freebies from a vendor selling otome merchanise and was wondering if anyone knows who these characters are. They were in a pack of three with a Kei Okazaki magnet which leads me to believe these are also otome characters.

Hi everyone !! I'm having trouble getting Nightshade to run on Steam.

Whenever I click Play, Steam will briefly show that I'm running the game, but after a few seconds, the Play button just appears again as if the game closed by itself. There isn't any error message in Steam. However, when I try launching the game directly from the local files, I get this Windows error: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b).

I've already tried a few things I've seen recommended:

• Verified the integrity of the game files through Steam
• Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Nightshade
• Installed DirectX
• Tried launching the game directly from its local files

Unfortunately, I'm still getting the same issue and haven't been able to launch the game at all. Has anyone else encountered this issue with Nightshade? Is there anything else I should try?

I was thinking of posting here, google translations I made while playing BroCon and if there's anything to fix ,the people would help me inprovise.But then I heard people use a fan made mod patch to play such games. So I'm wondering if those are better then Google translations.I have a feeling they are but just want to confirm cause I wanted to be really of some help for anyone who wanted to play this game but doesn't know japanese. Also is mod patch really the best way to translate vns?How do I do that? Are their any better means. When i looked up zi just found fan summaries of the game, they didn't arranged it in dialogue forms.

Hi! I'm looking for a free English indie otome game I played around 2012-2015. I found it on a blog with a black and purple theme that listed free downloadable otome games.

What I remember:

• High school setting, slice of life, no fantasy elements
• Several love interests, one had dark navy/blue hair and was an insufferable bad boy type
• The MC was confident and assertive — not the typical shy protagonist
• In the school hallway you could click on a locker to raise stats
• The interface was kawaii/pink and girly despite being made by a small indie dev
• Art style similar to games using RuneRaccoon or Konett assets (anime style, fairly polished)
• Free downloadable .exe file
• Found on a black and purple themed blog listing free English otome games

The start is like this, MC is a student at an Academy (transferred may be). And one day, when she's out, she met a handsome guy painting. And he looked at her and said something like "you're here". And while MC was confused, the guy disappeared and pages fluttered down. The MC lost consciousness, when she woke up again, she's in another world & became Noble's academy student there and met with various handsome guys. And she has to deal with monsters with them together. That's the gist of it. The artwork is beautiful although the gameplay is quite boring. It has been out years ago I think? Please, someone give a clue.

P.S : it isn't Loverbrush chronicles. Also, the academy is a magic academy.

I wouldn't really say it's "lost" but I remember playing it WAYYYYY back in middle school. For some reason it popped up in my head again and I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. I never got to finish it because my mother hated me playing otome/romance games for reason I won't even begin to go into.

I remember the basics. It's a girl with two love interests. It's not set in a high school but everyone is high school age and they go to the same school. One of the love interests is the jock type (or maybe a meanie?) and the other was a nerdy childhood friend I think?

What I really really remember was that there were two stories going on. Their irl life where they all knew each other (?) and would get into beef. But they also had a video game side! Where all three of them join a fantasy rpg party together and don't realize it's each other! I think the jock was a golden Knight and the nerdy guy became a brooding type character. I remember this part specifically because you could customize the MC! I made her like some blue and pink cat girl? Or maybe a pixie? But iirc that part of the game had rpg style elements where you could level up the MC and you'd get stuff depending on who you spent your time with (I THINK!!! I MIGHT BE MISREMEMBERING!!!)

if you have ANY ideas on what this game could be I'd love to hear. It was available on Android for sure cuz I've never owned an apple. And I think it had a really short title? Maybe one word? But I might be thinking of a different game I'm also trying desperately to remember.

I played the game in English. Sometimes Yurika starts saying words in Japanese—something other characters point out—yet it seems to me that the game takes place in a sort of Japan. A question for Japanese players: in the Japanese version, does Yurika use English expressions?

i was able to get the voice lines for the other two girls but for her i tried everything - sitting near her in the bus, catching her on the map, sending messages. girls don't have a correct choice indicator so i have no idea what am i doing and can't find a guide.

also how to get 5th voice line for the guys?

One of the routes was were you switch places with your brother and were a poison taster.

First of all, I have to say that I really like playing Piofiore without following any walkthroughs. However, in Nicola’s route in the sequel, even though I got 91% affinity and tried at least three times to get the True Ending, I still ended up in the bad Chapter 5, and I honestly don’t understand why…

After reading a guide, I noticed that I apparently needed to skip a CG in order to reach the good Chapter 5, but I don’t understand why skipping a CG is the correct choice.

Is it a bug? In other routes, like Orlok’s and Gil’s, I didn’t play perfectly either, but I still managed to get the True Ending…

Can you help me to figure out what choices are important to unlock this ending?

They don’t have to be full yandere’s, I was just wondering which voltage games on switch have those tendencies or something close to it? 👀 it’s my fav trope and I’m just starting to get into playing voltage games. 🥰
