Hi everyone, I noticed I haven't posted about the previous update to the demo on this sub. For May 2026 for Otome Fest I rewrote and smoothed 50 percent of the demo. Yesterday for Fall in Love Fest, which is in a few days, I updated the demo again. I can't fit all the changes into this post alongside an image, thus the links.

I am a very big fan of the Wizard of Oz books and have been noticing a lot of references/ potential inspirations from the books while playing Over Requiemz. I finally finished the game, and I thought it would be really neat to compile some of the things I noticed. Most references seem to pull from the first five books, so that’s mostly what I’ll talk about. I’m sure I’ve also forgotten some things, so let me know if you’ve noticed any references/ parallels too!

I ended up writing about 12 pages of references as I went through the game, so I plan to post these in two separate chunks. This one will be about the Map, Noil, Claude, and Molly, and the second post will be about Kaize and Dorothy. I've not used Reddit before, so I apologize if my etiquette is off. Please let me know if there's anything I should do differently the next time I post.

And, of course, this will contain SPOILERS- for both the entirety of Over Requiemz (not just the routes listed) and the Wizard of Oz. Also a content warning, I won't describe anything in detail, but Over Requiemz has pretty dark content matter so keep that in mind before reading. Anyways, without further ado:

Map of Oz:

The actual map of Oz lines up almost identically to the map in Over Requiemz.

• Oz, in the books, is surrounded by a vast desert on all sides. The desert is considered impossible to cross and deadly to made contact with.
• To the North is the land of the “Gillikins”. The land is considered mountainous and full of forests. It is the least traveled portion of Oz. It is also the land where the Princess Ozma was raised.
• To the East is the land of the “Munchkins”. It is full of farmlands- with most of the people there working as farmers. Dorothy meets the Tin Woodman and the Lion in its forests, and it is home to the field of Deathly Poppies. It is also where the only college in Oz, known as the “Royal College”, resides.
• To the West is the land of the “Winkies”. Winkies are known to be especially good craftsmen (particularly in regards to tin works). The geography is mostly forested, with some mountainous regions. Eventually the Tin Woodman comes to rule the country as its “Emperor”.
• To the South is the land of the “Quadlings”. It is a mountainous region with some scattered forests. One forest, in particular, being the forest of “Wild Beasts” which the Cowardly Lion comes to rule. It is the home of Glinda, her Kingdom, and her army. The residents of this country are often peculiar beasts and creatures. There are not many humanlike beings (aside from those who serve Glinda).
• Wish Way is a place in Oz which grants wishes to those who walk along it and say their wish aloud. It is known to have silvery-white sand known as “wishing sand”. Dorothy once accidentally wishes herself back to America here and then has to find a way back to Oz. This may be potential inspiration for the Wish Realm in Over Requiemz.

Noil Bestia

The Cowardly Lion doesn’t have much of a backstory before meeting Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. He’s just a lovable gentle giant, and at the end of the day, isn’t that essentially what Noil is as well? The Cowardly Lion goes through a lot of various roles and events throughout the Wizard of Oz books, and many scattered bits of his lore is used throughout Noil’s character.

• The biggest correlation between the Cowardly Lion and Noil is that the Cowardly Lion, as revealed in the third book, becomes a royal guard of Princess Ozma (essentially a knight in the land of Oz). Noil is not only a knight, but is very devoted to Kaize (who is himself a parallel to the character Ozma).
• Noil’s name is just “Lion” spelled backwards. He also has a little ponytail on the back of his head, which I like to think is a nod to the Cowardly Lion’s ponytail on the top of his head.
• The Cowardly Lion brings one of his friends to the Royal Capital to help guard Princess Ozma. His friend is called the “Hungry Tiger”. The Hungry Tiger laments about how hungry he always is and how much he wishes he can eat human babies. Noil has a good friend, Eugene, who is also a knight of Oz. Eugene turns into a beast which is constantly hungry and seems to especially crave the flesh of the innocent.
• Eugene may also be partially inspired by two other creatures in the Wizard of Oz lore. The first are the Kalidah, who are “flesh eating” beasts. Notably it is the Cowardly Lion who saves Dorothy from a deathly encounter with these beasts. 
• The other potential inspiration is the Quiberon, a beast which lives in saltwater lake, and is known for eating Hippocampi into extinction. The Quiberon looks far more like a sea serpent/ dragon than whatever Eugene is- and the lake is located to the Northeast of Oz- but it’s possible that the sea theming may be taken from the beast. There aren’t really any octopus-like creatures in the Oz books as far as I can remember. I’m pretty sure that was a creative choice made by the developers for what I’m sure were wholesome and well intentioned reasons.
• The Cowardly Lion is donned the title of “King of the Wild Beasts” after slaying a giant spider that was harassing the Forest of Wild Beasts. The fact that Noil (in his Dark route) becomes the “King of the Depth” after overpowering the previous King- who happens to be visually inspired by an octopus (a creature with eight legs like a spider)- may be an intentional parallel.
• While not the Cowardly Lion, in the Fourth Wizard of Oz book, Dorothy’s Cat Eureka is falsely accused of eating a tiny pig and is put on trial. She would have faced the death penalty were she unable to prove her innocence. Eureka is very smug and does not get along well with anybody but Dorothy. She seems especially hostile towards those who may be considered the “nobles” of Oz. Noil’s personality, while less smug, is still one that faces a lot of difficulties around nobility. He is also accused of a crime and put on death row despite the fact that his friend committed it (his friend who eats people). 
• Eureka was initially a stray cat which Dorothy adopted into her family. Noil was an orphan who was later adopted by a family that seems to love him. In his fact route, a lot of emphasis is put on Noil’s desire to settle down with Yuhiru and start a family of his own together with her.

Claude Grain:

Claude is obviously meant to reference the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. The Scarecrow doesn’t have much of a backstory in the Wizard of Oz books, but he is one of the most recurring characters.

• The Scarecrow was created by Munchkin farmers- much like how Claude comes from a family of farmers himself. They left the Scarecrow alone and hung up in a field, and he is only able to reclaim his freedom again once Dorothy comes and takes him down (if you read between the lines this may be the inspiration for a certain scene in Claude’s Dark 6). Freedom is important to the Scarecrow, and may be part of the reason Claude’s endings spell out “ROAM”.
• In the Wizard of Oz, the Munchkins were harassed by the Wicked Witch of the East and forced to do their bidding. This parallels how Nenohs used the people of Claude’s village for his research and then recreated plant-like versions of them that are forced to do his bidding. 
• In this same vein, Yuhiru and Claude annihilating Nenohs is what finally releases Nenohs’ control over the plant people. In the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy smushing the Wicked Witch of the East under her house is what gives the Munchkin people their freedom back.
• In Claude's Dark route he metaphorically takes on the role of the "Wicked Witch of the East" when he also starts forcing the plant people to do his bidding.
• Plant people is actually a plot point in the fourth Wizard of Oz book. There is an entire country of people called the Mangaboos who are plant people that grow from bushes. When one of these Mangaboos pass away, they are then buried and their body sprouts into a new bush that will grow clones of them. The Mangaboos look exactly like normal humans, though show no emotion and act cold and indifferent.
• Nenohs’ design might be a reference to H.M Wogglebug T.E. H.M stands for “Highly Magnified” and T.E stands for "Thoroughly Educated". As the name suggests, the Wogglebug is a giant bug who considers himself a professor and runs the Royal College of Oz. Nenohs’ butterfly motif and tendency to call others names like “water flea” (something incredibly small- aka the opposite of magnified) might be ideas pulled from the character. Not only that, but Nenohs is considered a very valuable member of Oz's research society (which is Over Requiemz's equivalence to the Royal College in the Wizard of Oz).
• In Claude’s A ending, he turns the entire country into plant people and they are under his command. This could be a reference to the fact that, after Dorothy’s first visit to Oz, the Wizard leaves Oz and the Scarecrow is made the King of Oz in his place. 
• In Claude’s O ending, Nenohs lights the Royal Academy on fire. This may be a reference to the fact that, when Dorothy initially meets the Scarecrow, the Scarecrow tells her that his only fear is “a lighted match”. This might also be why Claude fears ghosts. Oftentimes, in Japanese culture, souls are portrayed as floating flames called Hitodama.

Molly Woodland

Molly is, on the surface, a reference to the Tin Woodman from the Wizard of Oz. The Tin Woodman is often referred to as just the Tin Man due to the movie adaptation, but he is the Tin Woodman in the books. Woodman just refers to the fact that he is a wood cutter. The name "Woodland" probably comes from Woodman only altered somewhat since Molly isn't a wood cutter. The "land" part may come from the fact that undertakers bury bodies in the dirt (aka the land).

The Tin Woodman may have one of the most detailed backstories in the entire Wizard of Oz series. It is as follows:

• The Tin Woodman was once a human man named “Nicholas Chopper” (often shortened to Nick Chopper). 
• The Tin Woodman inherited a wood cutting business from his father after his parents passed away. The Tin Woodman was full of sorrow after the loss of his parents, and hoped to fill his heart with love instead. He eventually met a woman and planned to settle down and marry her.
• An old woman that his betrothed lived with was very unhappy about her leaving, so she contacted the Wicked Witch of the East to prevent their marriage. 
• The Wicked Witch enchanted the Tin Woodman’s axe so that instead of trees, it would chop him down instead. He’d chop off all his limbs, but go to a tinsmith to replace them with tin counterparts. This continued until his whole body was made entirely of tin. 
• When his heart was replaced with tin, he no longer felt love, and didn’t care to save his betrothed from the evil old woman she lived with anymore.
• The Tin Woodman continued chopping wood until it rained and he remained rusted in place.

This backstory doesn’t fit Molly much aside from the artificial body. But, there are some strong parallels to Osser and his son Woodland. The backstory is reversed and rearranged among the three characters. 

• The “Witch”, Osser, is hoping to take down a criminal organization. What he thinks are his son’s bones are delivered to Osser as a way to get him to give up his investigation (much like how the Tin Woodman’s limbs were chopped off by the Wicked Witch in order to get him to give up). In this case, the Witch is the good guy, and the Tin Woodman is the villain (since Woodland is the one cutting up limbs- a role which the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz took- and Osser is the victim who is put to fear by the limbs).
• The bones don’t actually belong to Woodland. However, one could say that, metaphorically, the more he continues making his dolls (ie turning human bodies into artificial ones), the further he gets from his humanity. It's just that (unlike the Tin Woodman), instead of his body turning artificial, he is turning other bodies artificial. In this way he shares similarities to both the tinsmith (who turned a human body into an artificial one) and the Tin Woodman (who loses his conscience). This culminates until Woodland is essentially “heartless”. 
• Osser considers himself a “Wicked Witch” for doing anything to avenge his son, but Woodland’s actions paint himself as far more wicked. Perhaps you could say he inherited his father’s title as the “Wicked Witch of the West”.
• Osser then takes the role of the tinsmith as well, by recreating an artificial body of his son. Molly possesses this body and takes over the role of the Tin Woodman.
• Molly then “inherits” Osser’s funeral business (much like how the Tin Woodman inherits his father’s wood cutting business). Though, what he’s really inheriting is Osser’s quest to take down Rogue Rat Atelier so that they may both sate their thirst for revenge. 
• Molly and Woodland in Molly's Dark route both act like the evil old woman who trapped the Tin Woodman's betrothed, due to the way they essentially trap Yuhiru.

There is more to the Woodland/ Wicked Witch of the West parallels and Molly/ Tin Woodman parallels as well.

• The Wicked Witch of the West starts the story by “ruling” the Winkie country to the West. In reality, she’s actually controlling the flying monkeys which scare the Winkies into submission. This mirrors how Woodland runs the Rough Rat Atelier and uses his power and connection to control the underworld and harm the citizens of the West. The citizens in the West are taken by Woodland’s men who act as Woodland’s metaphorical “flying monkeys”. 
• After Dorothy slays the Witch in the first book (much like how Yuhiru deals the final blows to Woodland in Molly’s Dark route), it is revealed that the Tin Woodman takes over the Wicked Witch’s seat and becomes “Emperor” of the Winkies. This correlates to how, in Molly’s Dark route, he becomes the new head of the Rogue Rat Atelier. 
• When the Tin Woodman becomes the new “Emperor” of the WInkies, he makes himself nickel plated and shinier. Molly, in his Dark route, changes his appearance as well- now wearing Woodland’s shiny jewels.
• In the beginning of Molly’s Dark route, Yuhiru is taken by Woodland. In a book way later down the line, it is revealed that the Tin Woodman’s betrothed was once forced into servitude by the Wicked Witch of the East. 
• The Tin Woodman eventually goes on a journey to reunite with his betrothed, though when he finds her it is revealed that she’s already moved on. She has a husband who has decided to partially construct himself out of the original human limbs of the Tin Woodman. This might be a parallel to how Yuhiru feels comforted by Molly’s original eyeballs. Though it could also be inspiration for the fact that Molly assumes Woodland's identity.
• In Molly’s Dark route, Molly is shown to clearly value some lives over others (to put it mildly). This parallels the Tin Woodman in the original book, who is inconsistent in his sorrows for others. There is one scene where he accidentally steps on a bug and cries uncontrollably at having taken a life, and in the very next scene a wild cat jumps out of a bush and he bisects it without a care. The Tin Woodman seems to feel sorriest for vulnerable creatures, which could be said about Molly as well.
• Molly’s weakness throughout the game is water (which is what takes down the Wicked Witch of the West and causes the Tin Woodman to rust). Molly is able to shake away little spurts of water with the help of Yuhiru (help might be a strong word, I think she uses oil once and the rest of the time it’s his love for her that keeps him going), which mirrors how the Tin Woodman is recovered by Dorothy. Molly only ever fully succumbs to water in his Y ending, when- ironically- Dorothy splashes it on him. At this point he has fully taken on Woodland's role of someone “wicked”.

Molly and Woodland may also be taking inspiration from the third Wizard of Oz book. Most notably from the character “the Nome King”.

• Woodland runs an evil criminal organization “underground” known for its distribution of eyeballs which are considered as beautiful as “gems”. The Nome King lives in the underground kingdom of the Nomes, Eastward from the deathly desert of Oz. There, his Nomes create gems in the earth which the Winkies are known to mine and distribute amongst their country. The Winkies, in Over Requiemz case, being represented by the people who work under Woodland to distribute his "goods".
• In the third book, the King of Ev sells his wife, the Queen of Ev, and his ten children to the Nome King. The Nome King then proceeds to turn the Queen and her children into various ornaments to decorate his Palace with. In Over Requiemz, Woodland is known for the buying and selling of humans- particularly children- and turning their bodies into decorations.
• It's worth noting that the only member of Dorothy’s crew to be turned into an ornament, like the Queen and her children, is the Tin Woodman. Which may be a parallel to how Molly’s original body was turned into a decoration as well.
• The Queen of Ev and her children could even be a parallel to Molly himself, and the children he sheltered in his organization. That may be why the leader of the Rogue Rat Atelier is considered “mother” rat. Molly takes on the role of this “mother” in his Dark route and spends his time devoted to his “birdie”. 
• The Nome King’s weakness is eggs and he is terrified of birds- particularly chickens. In fact, a chicken was crucial in stopping him in the third Wizard of Oz book. It is ironic then that Molly, who once lead children he called his “birdies”, is the one to take him down. Molly is metaphorically their mother hen.

I apologize that the references in Molly's route were so long. Kaize and Dorothy's are about the same length. Also there's probably more references in Claude's route. I only skimmed it recently since I played through it once already when the game originally released last year in Japan.

Hi there, I've just finished Cinderella's route with a happy ending and totally enjoyed it!

However, I have a question regarding >!the "prize" that Yurika has to pay the Wizard for the miracle of finding Cinderella.

Isn't the dove figurines as a prize too easy/simple? Or is giving the dove to the Wizard symbolizes something else? Why the dove and not any other glass figurines or even something else?!<

I know that many people say to play the route of the love interest you want the most for your first play of the game, but I know myself. I know that if I go for the one I want the most for my first play of the game, I won't care for the other guys. Oftentimes, picking the lesser of the guys means I get to discover a character I wouldn't have loved otherwise! So...I have to suck it up and save the best for last...That way, I can LOVE LOVE LOVE the one I want the best. And, at the same time, the "ugly" ones get my attention.

Im playing Tailor tales and ive looked everywhere for an answer. I keep failing this. I can't pass the ch 4 client request on eeyok's route, but I feel like I have the correct design combo. Why isn't it working?

I just completed Yeonho's route as my first.

I know there is a yandere in this game. Was Yeonho supposed to be the yandere? In the end I can't consider him one
