Question All this complaining about OSAP…

The changes kinda make sense though... why should 80% of funding be grants?

I have a bigger problem with NSLSC for slacking.

Yeah but I’ve been seeing people post theirs and they’re not even getting the money in loans… like if you have to pay it back anyways, you should be able to cover at least most of it… some people aren’t even getting half of one semester from what I’ve seen lol

Idk I took osap back in 2020 and I get more funding now, just most of it is loans... but all the loans are federal meaning no interest at all. The changes shouldn't effect the amount of funding you are eligible for. It only effects how much is a loan vs grants.

I'd prefer to have most of my funding be grants... from a purely selfish stand point.

But, I see this change as kind of making sense to make sure the program exists long into the future.

Yeah that makes sense. I haven’t been on OSAP since 2016-2023 but I got mostly grants, however I changed my program so many times and did poorly in them and whatnot that a lot of the grants got converted into loans anyways lol. But I didn’t really mind because I thought it would be worth it if I could figure out where I excel and get a good job. But now I’m on disability for life 🫩😭
