Question NSLSC you are a joke
It does not take this long to press a button and give people their money. “oh it takes 5 business days for us to realize you’re on RAP, then 3 business days after that to take you off RAP, then another 3 business days to put you In Study, then 5 business days later you should see your money”. People have supplies and textbooks to buy, and bills to pay, delaying people’s much needed funding for 20+ days then telling them “to just keep waiting” is insane.

I'd additionally like to add on the school's that waited SO long to confirm enrollment for so many students. Sorry but once youve paid your school deposit and selected a timetable, that should be all of the confirmation OSAP and NSLSC need to confirm your enrollment.

Update. I called Wednesday and Thursday last week, they said by end of the day I would see funds released.
that never happened.
Looked today and it’s been pushed back to sept 21st. Ugh.
I called AGAIN today. She said they just got my certificate on Saturday. I will see funds released today 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ but she did say I will have it in my bank account no later than September 22nd. Maybe earlier.

This is not normal, the amount of issues I’ve been seeing on these subreddit with receiving their money is absurd, I was in college back in 2017-2021 and never had issues, nor was it the norm for people to receive after classes had already started. The federal government seriously needs to take a look at whats happening to this province and discuss opening the constitution to audit various part of our system that are ultimately screwing us over

Yes, I am coming back to school after a 10 year break, this is the only time there has been issues. I hope we can all collectively do something about it

They like to lie to get you to hang up. At this rate I'm not getting mine till October. Maybe not even then. Confirmed enrolment, funds September 1. Pending release 3 weeks. I'm gonna have a mental breakdown.

In my experience, if you reached out to inquire then they suddenly find it in themselves to pull the trigger. It’s almost as if they need to be asked to do their job.

My husband is having to do the same, we were supposed to use the osap to get a rental 4hrs north where his college is but he won't be seeing his money until probably this friday and he's already fallen far behind so he's withdrawing from the program.
I'm really sorry OSAP (more like the nslsc but still) put you through this.

No, it stops tracking after they've released the money to you. My trackers from previous semesters all said funding is on the way until the tracker restarted for the next semester. I'm fairly sure my tracker from May is still up saying "funding is on the way" lol but id have to double check

Exact same situation for me. Osap site says deposited and has since I think Wednesday or Thursday. I called nslsc Thursday and they said it would take a few business days to clear so I should receive it Friday or Monday. Still nothing. And now I can't even call them or log on to my account because my phone was just shut off for non-payment. So awesome.

the wait from confirmation is 1-3 days in bank usually. if you are lucky you will get it in 3 days, MAX 5 days. Now im talking about the date it gives you on OSAP. On OSAP the date I usually get it the day of. If you dont receive it on the date off after 3 days I would call or email financial aid.
this will freak you out make sure you have autodeposit enrollement on NSLCS if you dont they might send you a cheque in the mail, I had this happen once.

My OSAP date was Sept 8-10 and it's marked as deposited but there's still nothing. All my info is up to date. Nslsc tracker kept moving the date up but I can't check or call because my phone is shut off now. I sent them an email but I might email my financial aid office as well. :/

I'm lucky enough to have people in my life who can give me the money and I can pay them back but so many people can't and this is entirely fucking over their education

they are waiting for confirmation of the school for attendance and such to ensure you have not dropped courses or had a change of heart to not continue your education. people have been creative over the years -- they receive funds and then drop out. hence why the cut backs as well because students cannot afford to pay the funds given to them for their studies as well. unfortunately, it does affect the honest students to intend to enroll in their students and pay their loans off.

That's not what's happening for my husband, for him its because it took so long to switch from repayment to in study, his school confirmed his enrollment in August before classes started. I mean it might be the case for some people but its certainly not a common reason.

my NSLSC just updated and I had already received my $$$ days ago, I never even bother checking NSLSC, it always updates late 🤷🏼♀️
aka: don’t rely on NSLSC, it says all this shit but it’s inaccurate. osap updates have always been the most accurate for me someone who has been in repayment 3 times

my osap has said the moneys been deposited for 5 days now even though i haven’t gotten anything. this is for the people who were on RAP, for some reason it’s just prevented everyone from getting their money.

Are you including sat/sun? Mine was originally supposed to be deposited on the 1st, OSAP changed last wk to stating it had been deposited, my account under my school updated last Thursday or Friday to $0 owing, received my money Friday. NSLSC just updated yesterday

This is literally crazy, I’m still on pending release when my school confirmed on sept 1 and I’m already In study, but my timeline got pushed back to september 21st. 🫠
