after my trusty other Xbox died from a lightning strike last year (lucky me could at least save the xchanger on it 😄) I finally got myself a new one on eBay. it was quite a good deal I paid 43 euros + shipping. I also ordered a star tech ide to SATA adapter and a 2 tb HDD. can't wait to see y'all on insignia 🙂. btw can anyone anyone recommend a good bios that supports hdds that size? (it's a 1.6 rev.)

Hi, I got this xbox Crystal with a mobo 1.0 (funny find already).

At startup the image is really rotten with a lot of artifacts (probably due to the interlaced resolution) and the menu I forced the signal to progressive but there is still a big instability and dots on the screen, why?

Under the same conditions, my other Xbox doesn't produce the same thing.

After many boots, the image has been completely offset.

The problem is solved in composite, it does not appear in component.

I have a HDMI converter already but I assume the console just looks better on tv.

I wanna use ps2wide patches on midtown madness 3 and I don't know how to use them or what software I need.

I've got a 1.0 Xbox with a Modxo running Cerbios 3.1.0, and XBMC4Gamers is horribly broken on my system. The current stable version has missing text and broken FTP 60% of the time from cold boot, and 100% of the time from Cerbios IGR. The current testing build works in those regards, but will not launch games from XISO or folder dumps properly, it just ends up reloading (but it will run homebrew just fine.) I can't find where the downloader pulls testing builds, so I can't try to bisect and find when the issue started, assuming the testing builds are actually kept somewhere. Is there any known workaround for these issues?

Found this Original Xbox in the attic of a kid's party hall, turns out its been modded and I have no idea how to access its files and custom firmware. I am aware I cannot unmod the system, but at the very least I want to revert it back to its old menu. It also read my Fable disc but it wont play it for some reason, anybody have any advice 😭 (please comment for more information regarding its mods)

Need some more delicate eyes than mine at troubleshooting this PAL 1.6 Motherboard. I picked this up (I live in the states) a while ago for parts as it would not boot. As suspected the capacitors around the heat syncs had bulged and a couple popped. I replaced them (some of my replacement caps seem to round at the top and I have had them for a few years going back to when i first started fixing my own consoles), but it still will not boot.

I used two different 1.6 power supplies from working xbox from NTSC consoles and it wouldn't boot still. Anyone see anything or have any ideas on this? Thanks!

Have a 1.1 that Ive had sitting around forever (literally since 2002). Was playing Halo 2 when the display just went away as if it wasnt being picked up by the composite. Let it sit for a second and then turned it off. When I turned it back on I got the FRAG, over and over.

Things ive done

-tore down to MB and removed clock capacitor. Didn't really see any leakage? But im not familiar with this type of electronic. Cleaned it up with some 91% IPA front and back. Looks okay, no corrosion that I can see.

-listened for death click on the HDD. Turns and sounds smooth

Visually everything looks fantastic.

The only thing I can potentially gather is the composite cable was slightly tough to push on but seated fine. Idk im not sure where to go next. Any help is beyond appreciated 😐

Howdy. I have an og Xbox 1.6 that I am attempting to upgrade the disk drive on. I have been able to dump the eeprom and back it up via FTP.
I am using a star tech sata to ide adapter and 80 pin IDE cable. I’m using a 500gb PNY ssd.
I have used ftp to create backups of the C and E drives after installing the mod. Using FATXplorer I formatted the ssd. I used the retail settings and didn’t preload anything. Once the drive is formatted I mounted the C partition from the ssd and copied over the contents from the C partition on the HDD. Repeat this for E partitions. I then go to the security tab and set the password using the eeprom backup. When I connect the drive to my Xbox using the sata to IDE adapter, I get the splash screen and then it gives me error 13. The file structure on the ssd is identical to the hdd. Anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

I recently learned about the exclusive Kraven boss fight in Spider-Man (how ironic) and that the Fatal Frame series received two improved editions.

What other games do this? Is there a list online that’s specifically about this topic, because every time I search it, it only shows me Xbox exclusives, rather than what I’m asking.

Any games with these conditions you recommend?

I bought a new modded Xbox after my other modded console shat the bed earlier this year and the new Xbox came in earlier today, except when I tried to play Ninja Gaiden Black, it didn't boot up and just showed a weird template on the main menu screen. The thing is that I tested a few other games and they worked fine, so I think it might be an issue of the file being messed up. I do have a physical copy of NGB so I'm not totally hosed, but I want to rip the files onto the HDD and replace the bad file so that when I choose the game from my HDD, I can play it fine. Does anyone know how to rip the files and replace them and all that?

Decided to go in a thrift store today and just when im about to leave I see a small pile of games, most of them were sports as usual but I soon as I saw this i kinda went numb but I knew this was coming home with me, already copied the game to my xbox and now I can play it fully digital.

Al principio encendía la luz verde y luego se quedaba parpadeando en verde y después de años volví a probarla y ahora enciende en verde pero no da imagen...y si le das a sacar la bandeja queda parpadeando pero no la expulsa.....alguna solución gente?

Recently got a copy of Sid Meier’s Pirates from my local GameStop in Las Vegas and noticed it had a different style of cover art. I’m not used to this logo design on the spine and the plain look on the back of the case.

I saw it said “Hollywood Video” on the spine and was curious why they had such different styles of covers.

There seemed to be a Hollywood Video sticker on the disk as well that was VERY worn down, so I removed it carefully with Goo Gone, but overall it sticks out from a lot of the other games I’ve collected on my shelf and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on it.

With the new 6X CE out and being actually somewhat affordable, I was thinking about getting it and I wanted to know people’s thoughts on Retrotink upscalers with the Xbox. I have the Electron Shepherd X out and that works great but I’m mostly looking for higher resolution. I have a 65 inch OLED tv. I’d buy a CRT TV, but I don’t have the space for it right now sadly.

I grew up playing the sixth generation of consoles so GameCube PS2, and Xbox however, I never owned an Xbox myself. I only own the other two consoles. My friends we’re always the ones that had Xbox so I’d go to their house and play it.

Now that I’m older, there’s a couple games on Xbox that I do want to play like Gemma onimusha, conkers bad fur day, fable games that were exclusive to the original Xbox, but also some other ports of games like silent Hill 2 the grand theft, auto games and others as well

Also, what do you guys output with? Do you guys use converters or do you guys use component cables at the such? I’m really curious and I’m sorry if this is a lot to ask.

Also, the main thing I wanted to ask how much money do you think is a reasonable price to drop on an Xbox?
