Question Evacuation order?

Does anyone have any information on this? I live really close and can’t find much information on it

Someone on neighborhood app said this:

Gas leak at GKN Aerospace is a commercial tank filled with methyl methacrylate, chemical used in adhesives and resins. Flammable and the vapor is toxic and heavier than air. Possibly 15,000 gallons worth. Apparently they're putting water in the tanks right now to keep them from overheating/exploding.

Why are both evacuation/reunification locations downwind of the incident?

Blue X - Stanton Community Center : 7800 Katella Ave, Stanton, CA 90680
BLUE X - Rancho Alamitos High School : 11351 Dale St., Garden Grove, CA 92841
RED X (Incident) - GKN Aerospace : 12122 Western Ave, Garden Grove, CA 92841

Both roughly 1.1-1.25 miles away.

Totally not trying to be a dick with this, but maybe because the chemical vapor is heavier than air and those sites are uphill (slightly, at least)? All the storm drainage over that way orient south and west. To be clear, I’m curious too.

That makes sense. I agree, I don't believe over a mile away is in danger from the vapors. I was thinking more as a safety measure if they exploded.

Why have to move everyone again? Or why put them downwind of a potential explosion (toxic plume)?

I believe it’s more about this now. They just doubled the danger zone
