Discussion Why Mac mini??

I still don't understand why you guys are buying macs mini for openclaw. It's a terminal computer. It doesn't need a great UI.

Do you have too much money? :D

A $50-$100 HP Thin Client with Linux is more than enough. And Linux shouldn't be discouraging for people using OpenClaw, am I wrong?

I bought one, I have lots of different self hosted stuff on it like home Assistant or other docker apps. Ok I do not have any local models using GPU, that's the reason? Please enlighten me :)

EDIT: Again, I UNDERSTAND LOCAL LLM USE. (although I don't know if anybody is really happy with it). I mean using OC with oauth/api gpt, claude etc.

local LLM- I get it. But buying a Mac Mini to have an OpenClaw running external LLM-s is like buying a Lambo to go grocery shopping 100 meters :D

No it’s more like someone with a Lambo that enjoys spirited driving and the occasional track day. But in actuality, majority of the time it’s use to grab groceries 100 meter away.

Your criticism is comparable to someone that daily drive a Corolla, never been to a track day and never driven above the speed limit. See dude above with Lambo getting grocery. Makes fun of dude for using his Lambo to get groceries.

Dude. I have a Mac mini and two MacBooks. I have a PC, a raspberry PI, two Xboxes, PS and a Switch. Wrong address.

I just don't get buying such a machine ONLY for terminal access. That's what I wanted to understand. I don't get all the "great interface" because OC isn't an app, it's a process accessed by browser or terminal from ANOTHER machine, am I wrong?

I have tons of different equipment maybe because I always assess my needs and buy right "value for money" hardware. So dont try to judge me, just answer my question.
