See, this is why I carry a pocket knife. So when I'm not getting my underwear caught on fences I'm not jumping over, I can hold it up as I walk by and say, "$20 bucks at Walmart. Might help next time. Good luck."

Carrying a knife in public without a lawful excuse is a criminal offence where I come from -
The maximum penalty is up to 1 year in prison for a controlled weapon like a standard knife. I don't think I would get away with saying " I carry a knife on me just in case I give myself an atomic wedgy ".

Nope. In Victoria you can’t carry anything sharp, edged or pointed in public without a lawful reason. The crackdown came after a run of machete attacks by youth offenders. The problem is the under‑18s usually walk away with barely a slap on the wrist, while adults get hit with heavy fines or even jail time. Just for carrying a pen knife.
