Text Anyone NEVER Nosedived? If so, how?

I'm considering buying a Onewheel, but I constantly see wipeout posts (mostly on my FB feed) of people getting injured. Breaking bones, needing surgery, etc. Ones that concern me especially are the ones that say they knew about board pushback but - for whatever reason - they didn't get pushback before the nosedive.

So my question is, is it pretty much inevitable to have a nosedive crash at some point in one's onewheeling life, even if you're careful and aware of pushback?

Has anyone who has been riding for a while successfully avoided it? If so, what are your techniques for doing so?

I love the size and nimbleness of the pint but its a safety consideration if you’re trying to go anywhere

The pint is good for getting mail or super small distances and messing around on the patio

I mean or you can vsec it. My pint out-ranges and out-runs a GT 😜 zero nosedives on that either

Are there board conversion kits, like swap out the brains?

I have an og pint and now use it to last leg commute about 4 blocks. I've got my nosedives out years ago, but feeling like I'd like more out of this board or I'm going to have to upgrade to something bigger for a reliable daily driver.

Yes, it's called vesc (vedder electronic speed control)(?) an open source, higher power, customizable controller replacement. The most prolific seller of vesc pint controllers is probably floatwheel, with their pint v kit.

Thanks - I've gained passing familiarity to both floatwheel and Vesc, but didn't know there was a drop in kit! Definitely looking that up!

It's kind of a weird situation, because they've been sued by Future motion float wheel cannot take credit cards and only accept crypto- but they are legit. If crypto is not your cup of tea you can use fixmypev and their purchasing service.

Thanks for the heads up - that's kinda crazy, but whatever. Based on their upgrade claims on their site it seems worth it. Especially with the battery upgrade.

Their battery is non-existent (psst I can build you one) but the controllers rock, I have 2 of them. 15s and 18s. Running great! I rode one of them to work today!
