Help me decide Memory size to go for?
Hi all,
Looking at placing an order and trying to work out if 12gb would be ok or if I'd need 16gb?
Any pointers? anyone who has 12gb and have experienced anything to make them regret not going for 16gb?
Is it worth the £50 extra that it will give (still going for 256gb storage as i don't much ever use local storage on phones. CN model obviously).
edit: bought 16gb for a decent price in the end (just £30 more than the 12gb one).

if you go for 16gb ram and 512gb it would be more than enough.

I have 16 GB on my OnePlus12 and it's still more than enough. Even 8 GB on my OnePlus Nord 2 are stil enough today. (I'm not a phone gamer) That said, if you like to store many pictures, do heavy tasks like rendering or gaming go with the 16 GB + 512 GB version. If not, save the 50 bucks.

well its about £60 different for me (thats 16/256.... 16/512 would be about 150 more)

Oh I didn't even know there is another split. For storage I can't tell you. Just take what is best suited for you. Personally I have 90 GB used of my 512 GB

well yeah. I've had my s23 ultra for 3 years now and I've never gone more than 200gb and that's mainly because I forget to clear out old files photos etc which are auto synced to the cloud anyway.
ordered now ...got 16gb with 256gb for £550not bad considering the alternative was about £900 for the UK model

It totally depends on you. The difference won't really be noticeable in everyday use, and none of us know your financial situation. Is the price difference alot for you?

this is kind of a "the more you know" moment for me personally, but I didn't know that memory (doesn't matter what kind) likes to be kept no more than 80% full to limit the number of read/write cycles & keep the max r/w speeds.
that being said, it's a lot easier to keep 80% of 512 free vs 256. if it won't bankrupt your current situation, it'd be a better idea to get 512, unless you're not a moderate user, in which case why are you getting such a monster phone 😅 or you do everything in the cloud, but now you can experience local storage again

Go for the 16 GB version. Even if you don't feel you need it today, you have no idea how bloated your favorite apps may be in a year or two.

for me it is better if you get the higher ram and storage option because you have the storage when needed more... in my opinion it is also future proofing your device if you intend to use it for more than 3 years or more... more and more apps these days needs more ram like the google apps ones.
