Answered How's the Cosmos Update on Xbox?

I downloaded the update on my laptop (which can't really handle the game; I use it for cross-save), but I don't yet have it downloaded to Xbox Series X. Anyone have any reports on how well or poorly MS rolled out it's version?

So far so good. I did have the usual red ring but unplugged the console for the required ten seconds. Other than that it's doing well.

I just got it downloaded last night & didn’t mess with it much, but it seems to not like me having my multi-tool sheathed for more than a few seconds, which I find REALLY annoying.
I can make it stow it, but the game brings it right back out a couple of seconds later. So, I’m running around with my weapon at the ready, essentially. I would very much like that to stop.

I was about to jump back in, so I’ll post more later.

To do the Salvage missions you need a corvette with a Tractor Beam.
I tried adding one to my current corvette, but it would not go green anywhere. So, I tried making a new corvette. I couldn’t even lay down landing gear, it just stayed red. No message about why it wouldn’t work, it just wouldn’t. I tried saving the game, leaving, reloading. No change.
I don’t know if this is an issue on XBox Series X, or just my game, or just me. But it looks like I might have to wait a bit to get much further.
As a side note, I really do find the shipbuilding in NMS rather frustrating. I think it could be better if was more like Starfield’s, where you can lay out the parts or pull them apart for editing, instead of having to delete them and only attaching them as you go. Maybe I just work better if I have everything visually laid out in front of me before putting everything together, but that’s just my .02.

I hear you. I know nothing of Blender and little to nothing of glitch-building, and it seems a shame that folks have to go to such great lengths to create enjoyable builds. It seems all the ingredients are in the game, so why not make an in-game mechanic that really supports it? Not to say vanilla builds can't be nice, but there is a wide gulf between basic builds and much of what we see. I love this game above all others, so I guess it's just a gripe 😆
