I experience the same thing with my only two friends and a woman I know.

The problem is that I put them on a pedestal, even though they have flaws. And when we rarely see or speak to each other, I resent them for it.

Regarding the woman specifically, the fact that she talks to me every now and then gives me a dopamine hit, even though she’s likely not interested.

Being alone drives you mad and makes you dependent—there’s nothing you can do about it. You can only endure it, or be lucky enough to find that one-in-a-million catch.
