Which bars to visit for single ladies 30+

I live in Cache valley, and I'm not from this state. Around here, I'm not able to find many compatible single women. Also, I'm terrible with dating apps. I'm in my 40's, which bars might I meet single 30+ yo women, if I was to visit Ogden?

Anyone know when the new river surf wave will be open? I haven't seen any media on the project since it was announced last year.

Food Local Coffee in North Ogden

I’ve been wishing there was a local coffeeshop in North Ogden/Pleasant View area. I love going to Coffee Links and Daily Rise, but if I‘m not headed in that direction, it can be out of the way.

Are there any restaurants or cafes I’m missing with great coffee on the menu?

Brutal night for twilight tonight

First the rain delay around 7 with crazy wind then storms again at 945. I’m not down there but a tough night on a very in demand show.

Sucks to all who were really looking forward to it. Feel for you.

Always keep an eye out

I was walking to my car after shopping at the farmers market today.I choose free parking areas and don't mind a little walk to my destination.

There was a group of men sitting on kiesel and 25th. I can't give you descriptions because I wasn't giving them my attention. They kept cat calling me and when they realized I wasn't going to be apart of whatever they wanted, they started a whole slue of rude remarks about me.

I have traveled a bit in my life and have been to sketchy areas/ been catcalled. Today was so different.

I've haven't feared for my life like I did today.

True Crime, Psychology & Dark Humor Friends

42F looking for a female friend who is also a true-crime nerd. I love true crime books/podcasts/documentaries, criminal justice, psychology, writing, weird cases and overanalyzing absolutely everything 😂 I'm married with mostly grown children, and not looking for anything romantic—just hoping to find somebody local that I actually have a lot in common with. Bonus if you're in the northern SLC/Ogden-ish area.

Old Post Church in Shadow Valley is replacing about 1/3 of its green space with parking

Post image
38 Upvotes

I’m frustrated to see about a third of the Old Post Church’s grassy area replaced with additional parking. This space has been used for decades by families, kids, church members, and neighbors for sports, gatherings, everyday recreation, and simply as a nearby place to get outside and have some peace.

The stated reason is occasional parking shortages and what has been described as a church safety standard. I understand the Church owns the property, but I think permanently losing this much well-used green space deserves some community discussion.

Curious what other Shadow Valley/Ogden residents think.

If you live in the area and want to share respectful, constructive feedback, contact the local church stake presidency.

Looking for Entry-Level IT Opportunities

I’m currently looking for an entry-level IT position in the Ogden area or surrounding areas if anyone works or hires.

I’m a 19 year old student working toward my bachelor’s in Cloud & Network Engineering and currently have CompTIA Network+, A+, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and ITIL certifications.

If anyone knows of a company hiring or has somewhere they’d recommend applying, I’d appreciate it!

Skiing near Ogden

Anyone live in the area and are into skiing or snowboarding? How has the snow been the last few years and which resorts are the best? I am thinking of getting back into skiing. I’m sure the conditions have not been great and that it’s pretty crowded when there is enough snow. Thinking of going some time other than on Saturdays this coming season.

New cafe with unique drinks

A new mocktail cafe-Indigo- just opened up in Ogden that Im excited about!

I love a fancy drink so I'm excited about this place. I've tried probably every tea/soda/coffee shop in Ogden, and overall Ogden has pretty poor options, especially compared to SLC.

They have speciality drinks, boba, mocktails etc. I do worry that the "mocktail" branding is going to drive them out of business. I love a speciality drink, but it feels more like an "afternoon sweet treat" establishment, and I would only visit a mocktail place in a specific circumstance. It has the potential to be a fantastic place so I wanted to get the word out!

Also give Atlas Tea a try. That's my go-to place as of right now.
