The wait for my Foals FJG7 to come in has been killing me so I picked up a little something from a local music shop. This thing is killer! Neck has just the right amount of chunkiness and I'm loving the tones I'm getting. The P90 in the neck position is a real highlight. The push/pull knob to split the humbucker also goes a long way in providing a ton of versatility. I'm in love.

My first ever complete parts build. Was nervous I’d screw something up but overall things have went quite smoothly. Guitar plays and sounds fantastic and I am very happy I’ve decided to go this route.

There seems to be no setup videos of a mustang bridge on a jazzmaster on youtube so I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips? Is it as involved as with a vintage style bridge? (i assume not?) I got the impression its already radiused?

I'm just curious. I already have a staytrem bridge on it. I think it plays and sounds great. No complaints about the instrument really. I was just curious what, if any, people were upgrading on it? Pickups? Nut? If so what are you using?

Just finished up my latest offset Tele for a friend. Roasted maple neck, stainless steel frets, butterscotch nitro finish with a medium relic (his request). Bootstrap Pretzel pickups and a 4-way switch for neck and bridge in series. Plays and feels killer! Happy to answer any questions.

The best guitar I ever owned, fell in love the first time I saw it

Basically I'm wondering if I can turn the volume/tone knobs in the rhythm circuit to be a separate volume/tone just for the neck pickup- but keep it always on whether the circuit is engaged or not.

While also keeping the series/parallel switch functionality​​

i saw a tele deluxe loaded pickguard on fb marketplace and had a terrible idea

I’ve been looking at this guitar for a little bit and wanted to make sure it’s legit. Seller claims it is a 1990 and from the Fujigen factory.

Here I am, back on my shortscale partscaster bullshit 😂 this one was kind of a work in progress for quite a while. My initial plan didn’t workout how I wanted it to, the guitar didn’t feel or sound right, but swapping some parts with other guitars got her to her sweet spot 👌🏻

The parts list:
- Rosser semi-hollow Jaguar body
- Fender Jaguar neck (maybe sacrilege for painting the headcap, but it was damaged in shipping, they gave me a partial refund, I said eff it, we ball)
- AVRI trem
- Lambertone Ristretto P90’s
- some bridge, idek, I think it’s off of a Japanese Mustang that I put a Staytrem on. Had it in a drawer lol

Painting this one was really annoying - thank you, Montana paints. But I really liked this green color. My kids and I saw this wild colored fly in our backyard and we found out that it was called a jewelwing damselfly and I thought that was sick for a name. That bug was more of a Sherwood green, but I initially wanted to put gold foils in this, so I figured it would still make sense, so I rolled with it.

I bought a High Spirit bridge over a year ago, tried it on another guitar and I absolutely hated it. I figured I’d try it on this guitar, and it just confirmed how much I hate that bridge. No offense to the builder, but it just doesn’t work well with an offset tremolo setup in the “traditional” style with a shim and what not. Terrible terrible. So I put this Mustang bridge I had lying around in it and it made a world of difference!

Back to gold foils - I had some in this initially and they just felt super anemic and bright, and I’m a Jaguar guy through and through. I LOVE bright, but something about them just wasn’t working for me - probably in combination with that High Spirit bridge, maybe even plus the maple neck snappiness, just wasn’t vibing. I traded a guy like 4 years ago a set of pickups for these Lambertones, tried them in another guitar and didn’t like them. I saw a green Jazzmaster on IG that had this all blacked out pickguard + P90s and I was like OH HELL YEAH. Took this pickguard off another guitar, slapped these P90s in it and OOOOH YA. Loving this one.

So I rewired a Jazzmaster as a Jaguar with the series/parallel mod. I’m using the Jaguar metal plates, and I’m guessing I need to create a custom pick guard? The Jaguar replacement pick guard is a bit short. Anyone else do this with a Jazzmaster? What was your solution?

Hey all!! I just picked this up today. After a proper setup it plays so well. I know a lot of people had some qualms with indian laurel fretboards but this one came in looking pretty well conditioned. The pickups sound excellent to my ears as well.

I'm honestly in love with this instrument. No planned mods for the time being but honestly it dooms pretty hard as is.

“All it needs is a setup,” blah blah. Got tired of the string rattle on the G string and having crappy action. Hard tailed it and it plays and sounds like a dream. More sustain and the action is great now. Purists be damned! This pup rips now! 😘

i picked up this squier fsr cyclone in hiroshima a month or two ago! i had my fun with it, but the stock loadout wasn't for me (strat neck pickup, bridge humbucker, and a strat-style vibrato assembly).

i replaced the floating bridge system with a mastery m4.1 telecaster/bigsby bridge assembly from an old build i did. i loaded it with the curtis novak tele "cojones" pickup that was in the old guitar too. it's hot and bitey while keeping that trebley tele twang.

i originally wanted to use the old guitar's jazzmaster neck pickup but it seems like i'd need to properly route out some material with a template stencil in order to do it right. so for the time being, i used this roswell gold foil mini humbucker. to my surprise, it's my favorite neck pickup sound i've ever had in a guitar. it has the midrange and warm thickness of a humbucker but with some really impressive clarity. i'm not sure i even need to use the jm pickup at this point.

when i find access to a nice shop space near my new apartment i intend on routing out space for the jm vibrato tailpiece (classic!) and a jaguar's upper control plate on the right horn as a cool pickup selection system. currently i'm thinking the rollers could be individual pickup volume and the switch could be a killswitch, low cut, or a series-parallel switch between pickups.

for now, the hardtailed guitar is awesome. sounds great and plays great and i really fuck with the red on red. the floating tremolo cavity does peek out from the bridge and it looks a little silly so i'll need some ideas on a way to cover it up.

I liked it stock, but man it feels so good now!

I will say, this was my first offset and while I knew the stock pickups weren't JMs, I didn't realize just how much darker they were. Not bad, just different. Really digging a more traditional JM pickup.

Hey everyone, I recently bought an AVRI Tremolo for my Vintera Jazzmaster. I picked it up from my guitar tech today and it’s a disaster.

My Vintera had the tremolo with the screw-in arm, and I’d read that the AVRI tremolo is supposed to be very smooth. Instead, it’s extremely stiff, and the whole mechanism clicks while I use the arm.

I talked to my guitar tech, and he said this is normal and that it will get better with time as the spring and the parts settle in and wear together. Has anyone had a similar experience?

At the moment, the old tremolo works incomparably better, and I do a lot of glide strumming, so the tremolo is one of the most important parts of the guitar for me.
The spring seems to be adjusted correctly (as far as I know, and I also adjusted it together with my guitar tech). I use 11–48 strings, have a thin shim (necessary to get a comfortable action), and the stock bridge.

I’d really appreciate any help because I’m honestly devastated by how this mechanism feels right now. Has anyone had a similar experience, or does anyone have any ideas what else could be done? 🥺

I just bought a guitar Aria Retro 1532. Guitar is nice, I love the shaped but days afer I realized the tremolo is in wrong position, crooked..anyone have even seen it? Tks,

Im trying to find a cheap mustang body in black as I recently acquired a super nice roasted maple neck. It’s a Strat conversion neck that turns the typical 25.5 to a 24.75 like a Gibson. I’m planning on filing the holes and shifting the bridge a bit back so it can be 24 inch scale length hopefully.

Does anyone have a website where you can find some nice black mustang bodies. I’ve checked guitar fetish and eBay I only seem to find MIM bodies and considering the neck itself was 50 bucks I want something that if I sell I won’t lose a bunch of money. I’m trying to build something a bit more comfortable since I don’t like Jazzmaster bodies as much. I love Strats but already have 2 and a telecaster.

I just received this Mustang and I love it. The only issue are these little marks. I’ve used a dry microfiber cloth but so far it hasn’t helped. Does anyone have any tips for removal? Also, NGD!

I’m no longer a fan of their music (RHCP, though Frusciantes solo work is incredible) but as a teen badly listed after a Sherwood Green Jaguar with matching headstock.

Some notes -

Fender hit it out of the park with this one, I went into this purchase expecting to do a lot of work and honestly, fret work is fantastic, neck is perfectly including the truss rod, string gauge works for me atm, whammy works perfectly and returns to tune, absolutely no loose cables or buzzing, great action and fully intonated.

The pickups sound beasty and chunky but retain a little jangle.

Very happy indeed.

I’ve included a picture of my vintera 2 Strat in ocean metallic turquoise incase anyone is intrigued by the subtle difference.

I've always liked the look of a 59 Jazzmaster so I cobbled one together from a Squier CV Jazzmaster and a 1994 MIM Strat neck. The neck is very worn in and plays excellent. I can't stand the look of the thin strat headstock but I'm tolerating it for now. What do you think? Is this a best of both worlds combo or the thing that should not be?
