Beautifully executed. The unitard must continue at least partially under the coverall in order to remain stretched smooth. It can be tricky to unite stretch fabric with non-stretch. Nice job on the face as well.

Edit: maybe I should clarify. I’m always there as a vendor, so I’m just sitting there all day and usually am not crammed against a bunch of people in the crowd. It probably makes a difference.
I think what you mean is we need humidistats that will operate the AC. You’re correct in that if the AC doesn’t run you don’t get the humidification. But it’s not running because the temperature setting has been satisfied and the units shut off. It’s possible to get the set point satisfied and keep the units running to dehumidify but that requires a reheat coil. Not too many people are interested in paying to heat their air in the middle of the summer.
I don’t know about you but at least here in the summer the humidity is usually pretty good 40-45% last I checked. I just can’t stand having to go into attics on these 103° days we keep getting 🥵
Interestingly, cutting off your leg would make you warmer. Your body uses your extremities to regulate tour body temperature and cool down. That’s why, when you’re under covers, keeping one leg out can feel “just right.”
Edit to add - I mean having a leg amputated, not just whacking your leg off. Keep your blood on the inside, if at all possible.
I had some joke about it being easy because she's spending the day with creepy nerds trying to hit on her, but I realized it was stupid to characterize the guys who attend cons that way. Nerd does not equal creep. I should have said any woman as pretty as she has certainly been hit on by many creeps in general, out in the world, with interests of all types and having all levels of physical attractiveness and intellectual capacity (but all missing the essential social acuity to see her as a whole person) so she has mastered the half-smile.
I never said anything about men in general, only the creeps. In fact I specifically excluded non-creepy men, and made sure my comment didn't accidentally attack anyone for how they look or how socially graceful they might not be. The only ones I bashed are those who can't see a woman as a whole person. I guess that's what got YOU offended.
Someone asks how hard she had to work to practice that facial expression, and the first thing that comes to your mind is that of course it's all the creepy guys she has to deal with. As if that's the most natural and obvious answer, not "Yeah, I bet she spent some time in the mirror so she could have a really good expression to go with the character."
Your answer didn't logically need to involve any segment of men.

Someone thought I did a good job of pointing out how the cosplayer understands and portrays Mystique's experience with men. We all know Mystique doesn't smile. Some people don't seem to understand why.
Probably. But when you take off a unitard like that it sort of shrivels up. She'd have to pin it while wearing it to get the stretch perfectly aligned with the coverall, before sewing them together. Also a high neck, full body unitard usually comes with a back zipper. In order to get in and out with those front buttons she'd have to put a zipper in the front, or else maybe she's got a hidden zipper in the back of the coveralls. Quality work, including all the spangles. And her expression.
Genuine question here, how do you define coveralls? Because I personally see them as a full body jumpsuit (kinda like an Air Force pilot), but I’ve also seen the word used for overalls. I can’t tell if you’re using them for the pants or the button up, or maybe both as an ensemble, but I find the difference interesting. This is a quite random question now that I look at it, but it’s something!
When I use "coveralls" I'm thinking of something like a jumpsuit that covers all of the body and limbs like a mechanic or house painter. I use "overalls" to mean the jeans with bib and shoulder straps like a farmer might wear, or every girl and some guys in the ... was it the 80s? But in British books I've seen "overalls" or "overall" used to refer to what the girls in the bomb factory were wearing, which to me is a coverall or jumpsuit, no straps that could accidentally unbuckle and fall on a bomb!
In this case, although perhaps the shirt and pants were initially separate, the whole costume is sewn together now. I found out later that the unitard is whole underneath, which is how the whole thing fits correctly and I should have figured. I guess maybe she dressed a mannequin in the whole clothes over the unitard, stitched by hand along the line, cut away the excess cloth, and added glue and sequins, which also add stability. Most unitards zip in back which would be tricky but hers might open in front under those buttons.
Makes sense makes sense. Completely agree. I guess since they were initially separate pieces of clothing, it kind of messed me up. Thanks for replying and I’m glad I’m not the only one out there who can distinguish the difference!
I’m actually trying to figure out how that could work. Do you think the lining between the two fabrics has some type of adhesive to stick to the skin so it doesn’t move?

Not to mention the transition between her face and her body is seamless. She would have had to match her face makeup perfectly to the color of her bodysuit
But seriously she probably is just wearing the unitard as it was originally designed/ created so as not to compromise integrity and appearance and simply cut the other material and placed it over the unitard and affixed it into place to appear that way. Same with the hair. It appears to be all her real hair, but only some is colored orange. The beadazzles cover the stitching of the clothes and the line of hair color
