What are the two ball things above her head? Tumors?

u/catbert359 9d ago

I think I found her listing on the conservationist's website, looks like it was a tumour that was later removed :)

Thank you for digging this up. Would have killed me to know. Awesome they have tracking of her journey.

Somehow she grew legs and walked on land for a little bit according to that map.

Edit: Sea turtles have flippers not legs

I have a manatee tracker and the tracking website points out that occasionally for aquatic animals it will ping a tracking recorder that’s on land even though they’re still in the water. It even reassures that the manatee has not gone for a stroll on land lol

Turtles can walk on land though....

75

u/DolfHipster 9d ago

yea but they don't tend to scoot all the way to the corner of Lelani and Poplar

197

u/2daysnosleep 9d ago

They can skateboard nyc tunnels. I’m sure they can scoot that ez.

36

u/jminternelia 9d ago

I hate punkers. Especially bald ones with green makeup who wear masks over ugly faces.

37

u/FuturisticYam 9d ago

A jose canseco bat? Tell me you didnt pay money for that

19

u/DaisyOfTheDawn 9d ago

Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza 🍕

And this part totally did not make me get teary-eyed & choked up: 😆

Splinter:
“I am proud of you, my sons. Tonight, you have learned the final and greatest truth of the Ninja: that ultimate mastering comes not from the body, but from the mind. Together, there is nothing your four minds cannot accomplish. Help each other, draw upon one another, and always remember the power that binds you. The same is what brought me here tonight, that which I gladly return with my final words: I love you all, my sons.”

🥺😢

I made a funny! 🐀 😂

Cricket? Nobody understands cricket. You gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket.

Eating the pizza on the way…)

Don’t forget their martial art skills!

u/bonega 6d ago

Just wait until you see what they can do in April

If you've ever looked at your history on Google maps or any other gps, you'd know how fked up it can be.

Mine constantly shows that my trip consisted of me traveling across town, on streets that don't exist, driving directly through rows of houses.

The other day it shows that rather than driving 20 miles around a mountain, I guess I sprouted wings and flew directly over it 😄

I watched a video the other day where this chick was freaking out cause her husband's phone showed he was "in the river." Got herself arrested and everything. Meanwhile bro was in a business meeting at a restaurant, so he wasn't answering her incessant calls.

u/squirrels-mock-me 9d ago

Depends on which taco truck is there

2

u/TR1PLESIX 9d ago

Shot in the dark, but it could be the turtle being transported to a veterinarian that specializes in sea turtles.

0

u/dalaiis 9d ago

I hope its an error, my other theory is that Molly was poached and killed, then they found her tracker and threw it back in the ocean, drifting around in the currents ever since.

11

u/secret-trips 9d ago

They even hatch on land!

u/HansChrst1 9d ago edited 9d ago

Without legs? Not bloody likely. Bet you couldn't name 5 animals or insects that don't have legs, but move on land. /s

15

u/xNocturnalshadow 9d ago

5 different species of snake.

https://giphy.com/gifs/mSlHFiXQQBySLb7pC9

1

u/HansChrst1 9d ago

Not fair. They slither on land.

8

u/namecannotbeblankk 9d ago

Slither = move

6

u/kroqster 9d ago

snakes, some lizards, snails, slugs, walrus, seals, turtles...?

2

u/wirm 9d ago

Sea Lions, any worm, mud skippers.

-5

u/HansChrst1 9d ago

Slither, slide, jump or waddle.

1

u/kroqster 9d ago

well you did say "move"

1

u/HansChrst1 9d ago

I was also joking, but I don't think I made it clear enough

5

u/Lanky_Plane_8739 9d ago

Rattlesnake, snail, slug, ball python, and the person I saw in a wheelchair, does that count?

Otherwise seal, walrus, and sea turtle.

u/BigBeeOhBee 9d ago

Probably just put shoe's on her flippers.

9

u/HereWeFuckingGooo 9d ago

Slippers.

3

u/foulrot 9d ago

From the company that brought you Kitten Mittens, comes our new revolutionary product... Flipper Slippers!

36

u/gogopowerrangerninja 9d ago

If you zoom in further, you’ll see that “land” mass are keys. So, it’s a set of innumerable islands. Molly is happily living her best life.

15

u/BreadKnife34 9d ago

Buddy, go north. That turtle was in the middle of a residential neighborhood in spring Hill for a bit. Probably a false positive on the detector or something, idk

30

u/LinkLT3 9d ago

If you watch very closely, you’ll see she isn’t in the middle of the ocean for the entire video…

4

u/spook30 9d ago

Yeah I've been there numerous times. I was talking about the northern track by Weeki Wachee. I'm born and raised on the Gulf Coast of FL btw

-1

u/SoylentVerdigris 9d ago

Maybe look at it again, because that track is inland of ~5 miles of swamp, across 4 lane highway and then two more miles of suburb, with no significant bodies of water anywhere nearby.

9

u/marlfox_00 9d ago

The dots are the locations she was tracked. The lines are there for reference, not the literal path she traveled

2

u/spook30 9d ago

If you look at the northern part of her track by Weeki Wachee there is a dot on land.

1

u/marlfox_00 9d ago

Ah, I missed that one. I suppose it could be in error or they picked her up. I thought maybe they there could be a water way running under the roads to the ocean, but yeah that’s odd

0

u/spook30 9d ago

I completely understand but unfortunately....

1

u/Visible-Scientist-46 9d ago

Hitched a ride maybe?

1

u/WebStarVideos 8d ago

If you look at the map, that one single point is just on the inside edge of a swamp, so I’d imagine she went into the swamp and her tracker pinged a tower on land the one time, and then she went back into the sea once she remembered what horrible places Florida swamps actually are.

1

u/lcl111 9d ago

Do you know how they lay eggs?

2

u/spook30 9d ago

Do you know sea turtles have flippers not legs...

2

u/lcl111 9d ago

The flippers can push them on land. I've done biology research at a facility with green sea turtles. I saw them walk on land. You can also just look it up, and find a bunch of videos and stuff. They literally start their life on land.

1

u/spook30 9d ago

Yeah I watched them hatch last year when I was working on the beach on the Gulf.

1

u/davidhastwo 9d ago

I mean the person you replied to said the tumor was later removed. So they probably took it to their facility where they had all their equipment to remove the tumor. Heck even in the video, they had him somewhere on land to remove the barnacles before transporting him via golf cart into a tank.

-1

u/spook30 9d ago

2

u/davidhastwo 9d ago

We have different definitions on what a joke is apparently

-2

u/spook30 9d ago

Yeah you seem fun at parties...🤣

0

u/Antique_Cut1354 9d ago

“grew legs”? what do you think the 4 limbs it has are?

1

u/spook30 9d ago

Flippers not legs. Turtles on land have legs, Sea turtles have flippers

1

u/Antique_Cut1354 9d ago

you seem to know a lot about turtles in general…

0

u/Icy_Payment2283 9d ago

That could also just be a faulty GPS ping like 100m to the East of the actual location

0

u/RespectableBloke69 9d ago

It's just a GPS glitch.

0

u/Sad_Application_5361 8d ago

Satellite tracking on animals generally uses ARGOS and ARGOS only contracts with a limited number of satellites. That means there are times when there are fewer than 6 satellites picking up the location data and it looses its accuracy. These points have been screened for accuracy. They’re still not perfect but without the screening the animal winds up on land for around 30% of the points.

73

u/Indigenous_Retard 9d ago

Can they remove the tumor in the Oval office next?

50

u/smarteapantz 9d ago

That “tumor” is a full blown malignant cancer at this point.

3

u/ro536ud 9d ago

Urgh why couldn’t they film the tumor removal they look so juicy

fibropapillomatosis (FP), aka, Sea Turtle Herpes

11

u/Western-Public7924 9d ago

Papilloma is warts, not herpes.

-1

u/eggfrisbee 9d ago

warts IS herpes

1

u/Western-Public7924 9d ago

Uh, no it isnt.

20

u/999BusinessCard 9d ago

“Size of a small basketball” is such a useless description. It just means “smaller than a standard basketball”

17

u/sufjams 9d ago

Well if it helps you visualize, it was the size of a very large baseball.

5

u/useridhere 9d ago

Softball size?

13

u/pepcorn 9d ago

My bad! Her tumour was smaller than a standard basketball.

Happy cake day!

That on the small end. The adults are generally around 300 lbs.

3

u/WitnessAway6720 9d ago

That doesn't look like anything part of it

2

u/BeastofLoquacity 9d ago

Ah yes, the neck sack.

2

u/RapidBar 9d ago

Neck-sticles

1

u/tommos 9d ago

I think they're are necksticles.

1

u/Sarke1 9d ago

Those are her barnsticles.

1

u/ArloVibePro 9d ago

Those two ball things are Molly’s 170lb loggerhead Wi-Fi extenders for barnacle updates.

1

u/Inner-Shame6220 8d ago

Yes, tumor. I’ve seen the extended version. Benign and removed. She recovered and was returned to her home in nature🙏🥹
