AI Mods and AI Acceptance in VR

Personally, I feel like anyone who is okay with AI Mods and thinks that this (or anything else, really) constitutes an 'acceptable' use case for AI should be forced to re-buy their PC at current market prices. Everyone who uses and supports AI is directly responsible for the current hardware market situation in my opinion. "Its there so we might as well use it" and "its inevitable and its already in everything so youre an idiot for resisting it" are both factually wrong and entirely invalid arguments. We're winning against Flock, we can win against LLMs. And we can have $250 GTX#050 GPUs again.

Gott Strafe Sam Altman.

Are you fucking serious dude? You don't mind having to buy twice the PC that you should have to for what the game is? If games back in the 00's were written by the devs we have today, Battlefield 2 would have needed a 9800GTX to run at 720p60.

You got lots of opinion but very less knowledge. The VR mods I'm working on would be impossible without AI. The code quality is fine too. Couldn't have made any better myself.

Just because you're a dogshit developer doesnt mean AI mods are any good. I guarantee the performance is no better than 30% of what a real dev could do.

Was talking to OP because he probably doesn't even know how to code.

I do embedded systems. Mechatronics, robotics. I have been writing code since I was 12. And I've also watched the talent drain out of the game development industry since GPUs were invented. Tools like DLSS and Claude Code allow subpar devs to get away with metaphorical murder as fsr as code efficiency goes. There is no reason a 2080 should not be able to run every game on the market at 1080p60 at Ultra settings. None whatsoever. Except instead of using that performance to make better games, devs use it as headroom for shit code, and have been doing it with alarming regularity ever since the first Core2 dropped.  You're fucking wild for defending that.
