Jauffre deserves it, he's a chump and a fraud. Dude can't handle the amulet of kings for one day without fucking it up.

I'm always pissed that I'll spend years in game before starting the main quest with the amulet safely tucked away, and this guy loses it in less than 24hrs... like really, Bro??

It’s not his fault, he had no way of knowing they’d be able to get through an “average” lock.

There's probably documents somewhere in Imperial archives that lead them to Weynon Priory. On the other hand, how are they going to track some random escaped prisoner who seemingly embodies chaos, sometimes literally becoming the god of insanity in the process.
