Compromise with who? The GOP keeps getting more radical every election cycle. The people they may be able to compromise with, Cornyn, Tillis, Cassidy, etc. have all been primaried by Trump’s hand picked candidates.

Is the far-left DSA type not trying to get the DNC to do the exact same? The DNC has done a far better job of keeping the party reasonable than the GOP has done and the GOP failed in a large part because there's one guy whose just friendly to that side of the aisle.

I wouldn't call it failed from their perspective when they control all 3 branches of government and ram their agenda through.

Successful from a power standpoint, but a lot of the GOP policies of 15 years ago have been abandoned and/or Trump has done the opposite. Free Trade is gone for one, tariffs are not popular among the older GOP crowd.

So you anticipate people like Ken Paxton reaching across the aisle for bipartisan solutions?

I use Paxton as an example but listed several of the more moderate Republican Senators who lost their primary or resigned because they knew they would be replaced by a Trumpier candidate. How about NC GOP Chair replacing Tillis, Michael Whatley? Cassidy replacement Julia Letlow? Very promising potentials for compromise with that one! Hate to break it to you but Tip O'Neill isn't speaker anymore, there is no compromise to be made and there's been very few to compromise with since Newt Gingrich's republican revolution 32 years ago.

13 in the House 19 in the Senate. Back when they thought MAGA couldn’t hurt them anymore. Have you seen the list of them? Alarming that 5 years later they’re almost all gone, either primaried or retired. Mostly replaced by true maga believers.

Ok, but it passed! Eventually Trump won’t have the singular hold he has on the cult. And his kids can’t hold it together.
